I can't wait to see this completed. Out of curiosity, how will he be able to fire weapons and throw things? I mean the mouth is a mouth. Does it use it's tongue?
Anyway, will there be any sprites of him out of mech? I'd like to see Porky himself have a little of the action.

He'll pick up items and grab characters with the pincers around the eye. He'll rarely come out of the pod. Maybe for a taunt or when the battle is over.

Just an idea for a taunt, maybe the mech ejects him and he lands on the ground and gets the squiggle thing above his head and climbs back in? Eh. Not THAT good. But something along those lines.

The spider mech looks really organic, you could always have one of the arms grab it or have porky open the pod to use it. How exactly would pivoting the pod look?

We could always redesign his machine slightly so that there are front outstretched arms like a praying mantis. It would make picking objects up and grabbing people easier.

Porky could also just use it from inside his mech. As he releases to swing the mech opens. Ofcourse, he wouldn't be able to hit the same distance as others with items but his mech probably makes up for that.

I'm not sure EXACTLY what you mean by this, but the idea I'm seeing this as wouldn't work.
