RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Gussprint - 09-23-2017 Megaman Legacy Collection 2 [Steam] Heck yeah, playin' some classic Rockman. No joke, I've been anting for this one since it was first announced. Why? It means I now have a chance to play Rockman 8 without havin' to blow a black hole in my wallet. Speakin' of RM8, got halfway through the game despite general stumbling and adjustin' on the field to the fact that Master Weapons now have their own button. Not as hard to remember as you'd think, unless you just jumped in from the previous games like yours truly did. Blaster Master ZERO [3DS] "Oh hey, I still haven't touched this one." -Me Not sure how it measures up to the original (Haven't played that one), but what I've played so far of this one I'm likin'. And it only took me since its launch to begin playin' it! Yeah, still a monument a procrastination here. Startin' to whittle that backlog though, yo~ (09-23-2017, 02:28 PM)LittleYabiko Wrote: say what you will about sonic adventure 2 not aging well, it's so much fun and really addicting. THIS. All of THIS. As someone who's officially gotten sick and tired of people treatin' SA2 like it was never that good in the first place (LOOKIN' AT YOU FTA), I wholeheartedly agree. Like it's okay if you don't like the game, that's fine, all well and dandy. It's when people start rantin' how it was never that good/was always a piece of jitt to begin with, purposefully disregarding the fact that it DID have a considerable following just to prove your point, that I have to go NOPE. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - miyabi95_ - 09-23-2017 they really gotta find better criticisms for SA2, besides "unavoidable graphical glitch" and "bad voice acting"* i can probably name 10 things i love about it. my biggest gripe would have to be tails' levels. they tend to overstay their welcome so i end up clearing the stage with no lives left thanks to all the cheap traps. quite a few enemies are near impossible to avoid, so it makes me insane a bit to know that people speedrun and complete with this game. lol *change the sound settings if you don't like voices for fricks sake. most games these days allow you to do that anyway RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Kendotlibero - 09-24-2017 both sadx and sa2 were games good for their time, since 3d sonic game was a novel idea. The problem with sa2 is that only the majoty sonic's and shadow's stages are fun, the other 2/3 of the game is boring. Tails/Eggman is slow paced and clunky, it kinda makes sense since they are on a robot, but the level doesn't seem to be made with a clunky robot in mind. The abundance many twist and turns and hidden enemies you must kill to proced slow the pace even more, making it a slug. As for Knucles/Rouge, they made even worse than sadx. I hated it in the first i hate it even more in the second one RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Usyra - 09-30-2017 I'm spending most of my time playing Injustice 2. I'd be playing more of Xenoverse 2, but I'm getting pissed off that I keep missing the raids. By the time I'm aware they exist, they're already over. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Davy Jones - 09-30-2017 Played through Succubus: The Six Spells (PC), a Mega Man parody with very easy but lengthy stages. Beat the last boss with no sweat with the crescent weapon, after I thought he would be extra hard. Now I'm playing the demo of Seeds of Chaos (PC), a visual novel with erotic content. Unfortunately, I ignored some goals the demon twins demanded me to reach, which got me three game overs so far. Also I'm unable to find the Rosarian keep to conquer the realm, since the world map gives me limited sight and no overall map of already visited areas. Still a quality game plus really good CG. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - sorapapu - 10-01-2017 Currently playing Child of Light, it was a free PS game and I must say it's quite fun to say the least. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Vlad Ⅲ - 10-03-2017 I spend time playing Mega Maker lately. Is Mega Man, but you build own levels. Creative! I made levels with lots of spikes. Is fun for me, but I get negative rating from others. I guess they not used to Wallachian humor. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - FormerUser9 - 10-03-2017 Playing with birbs... i mean, playing Super Mario UniMaker (COPYRITE MARIO SILVA) at the most, but mainly nothing. wat? i also do Sprites RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Davy Jones - 10-03-2017 Finally played through Seeds of Chaos (PC). As for v.0.2.20, it has only two goals: Invading a certain village within 3 weeks and conquering Raeve Keep within 22 weeks. Both of these locations are only a few tiles from the central portal away, one in the north and the other in the east. No idea how I could miss them, especially the fortress. The game ends automatically after 32 weeks or so. Now that I'm through, I can say for certain that the writing may be the biggest strength of the game rather than visuals and explicit content (which are both still very good). I hope the next visual novel I play lives up to this title in terms of quality =) RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Hiro-sofT - 10-06-2017 I finished all six games in Mega Man Legacy Collection for PC. Mega Man 1 is more fun than people are making it to be. Sure, the platform enemies are sucking (because of the engine being not object platform friendly) and the die instantly on spikes is uncool (even tho not really that much of a problem), but I had my fun running through the game (even the Game Overs didn't hit me as much here). Still love the fact that most people (old me included) thought that all these bosses were random but most of them aren't. Fire Man happens to be the easiest boss for me and now I'm more scared of Cut Man than Elec Man (because he has one weird pattern). Mega Man 2... nah... I'm going to pass on saying my opinion about this game... already ranted about it in the annoying games thread. Still hasn't changed my opinion about this game much... but I think it's no longer the worst of the first 6 games but more like the second worst. The worst I feel (at least for me) is... Mega Man 3 and his great engine (and with great I mean a engine that is more unreliable than Eddies RNG item drops, hoping for an E-Tank to drop). Oh boy! I only played the Wily Wars version of this game (great version btw, game is great too) and I didn't had many issues with it, but playing the NES original was pure hell. Wonky hitboxes everywhere, inputs that got eaten by the game and making you look like a dumbnut in the process and glitches everywhere... the game could have been good, if the engine would actually work and the Doc Robot stages would have been more balanced (seriously, two bosses, that are almost impossible to dodge most of the time, which will deal tons of damage, while using bad boss patterns, is not fun). I say this game is worse than MM2... never felt so much pain playing a Mega Man game (I should play MM2GB, at least this one is not eating your inputs). Mega Man 4 was a fun experience. I never knew the Dust Crusher is so powerful in this game (it kills a lot of enemies with 1-3 hits). The only issues I had with it was that it's a bit too punishing when it comes to bossfights (the damage they deal seems higher than in most of the other games). Mega Man 5 is my favorite of the first six games. As I know, its engine is more solid than MM3 and it has a good difficulty curve (at least for me). Sure most of the weapons are bad, but this game is great in getting you started into Mega Man, as you can do this game simply Buster only without having to rip out your hair. Bosses may be simple and easy unlike the other games, but they are challenging enough to make a newcomer sweat and are not as confusing as MM1s bosses. Why do people hate it? I really see no real problems with it (unlike MM2, I can play this game without having a salty cream in front of my mouth). Mega Man 6 is my second favorite (close the same with MM4), but this game has issues with the jump button, which eats the jumping away from time to time and it also removes the function to jump out of a slide (which messed me up many times). The game looks really good for being an NES game and the music is also not as bad people make it to be (I personally get more migraines from MM2s soundtrack, like form its Wily 3 music, duh). The plot in this game (if you though MM5 was bad in this) is the worst I have seen in Mega Man... I mean... really? Who didn't expect Mr.X to be Dr.Wily? It's too god damm obvious that it was him all the time (even if you don't know that he was behind evil deeds all along the series). One thing I disliked in all of them was the Wily stages. Why did no game, besides MM6, managed to have good Checkpoints in the Wily stages? I understand it kind of with MM2 for not having a corridor before them, but MM4 for example, if you die to the first Wily boss (the giant Met) you will be sent to the second half of the level. I have to redo half of a level because I died at the boss... that's a bit harsh (to quote Bomb Man here). Well, at least it didn't send me to the beginning of the level, what MM3 did on the Yellow Devil stage. Duh... Now aiming for the challenges... got here and there a few gold ones already. Wow, there are people who cleared these challenges in only 10 secs here? I will watch them how they did... you... just stand there? The time limit goes over 10 sec even when your time is 10 secs? Okay... Yeah, apparently some people have nothing but a cheated record time in Mega Man... yeah. Did upload my livestreams on YouTube for those who are interested (they are mostly in German however). The only one I still need to upload is the MM5 and MM6 one, but I was and I'm still very busy... the last year in my apprenticeship is going to be rough. Short version of what I said: Liked the most|MM5 > MM6 > MM4 > MM1 > MM2 > MM3|Liked the least EDIT: Quote:made levels with lots of spikes. Is fun for me, but I get negative rating from others.Well, not everyone is into the "instant death everywere and have to restart many times at the beginning of level" type of leveldesign. I would need to see the level before I judge here, but I can say that nobody usually likes spike stages in MM in which every wrong pixeljump/-move results in death. It's not my style either to be honest, because Mega Man is not about the instant death and trial and error most people claiming it to be about. It's more about to aim your shots and perform tricky platforming, while increasing the challange and difficulty as the player progresses through the stage. I myself enjoyed Mega Maker when it came out too, but now I lost interest, because the game is now more buggy than MM3 and they seem to add even more buggy stuff on top of it now, instead of fixing the huge and important problems and glitches which were already present in this game since v.1.0. How should I build a timing based stage when all my timing objects are activate everytime differently and when they go off sync all the time? Nah... better make the wind weapon (which was fine on its own) OP and add new enemies and weapons into the game. RE: What Are you playing? Metroid, Mario, and Marvel oh my - Davy Jones - 10-06-2017 Playing Summertime Saga (PC), another visual novel, this time with a modern setting. It's also a demo (v.0.13.1), so I'm not sure how long it is. What I can clearly see after 4+ hours of playing it, is that it belongs to the 5% of good ero games with good writing/artwork, consisting graphics and a decent story. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Davy Jones - 10-29-2017 Played a lot of stuff to determine which games are worth ripping. Daughter of Essence (v.0.1.1a, PC) RPG Maker MV game demo. This one has good-looking maps, well-written dialogue and very good character art (well, at least for the portraits, the cutscene cg doesn't look as appealing). It's quite short, but this is a game where I would definitely play the full version of. To sum up the story, you play a royal wildfang who is not okay with getting married by her father and therefore attempts to sail the oceans for freedom while slowly developing magcial powers. Era Hunter (v.0.2.1, PC) RPG Maker MV game demo. Very early alpha, even shorter than Daughter of Essence and but with good portrait art. The rest of the game isn't quite good, but rather pretty lazy and forgettable. Basically you get a quest, your clothes get stolen by demons and kids and you have to deal with avoiding public indecency. You also get screwed when you fail a minigame, but it's not relevant for the story and the "victim" doesn't really care about it. Urban X Life (v.0.1.8e, PC) RPG Maker VX Ace game (unfinished). The character portraits are wildly varying in terms of quality, but the rest of the game was quite entertaining. You play as a kid who wants to screw with literally everbody and in your quest to do so, you get powers granted by a Japanese tanooki which lets you "influence" people around you. Later you meet Nessa, who tries to get revenge on her stepmother for ruining her life. She is also a character who is quite believable in comparison to the kid, who is probably smarter than an adult while his mother has an IQ of a beanstalk. Urban Demons (v.0.8-beta.2, PC) RPG Maker VX Ace game (unfinished). It's a remake of Urban X Life and was built from scratch by a different author (Nergal). The character art is superior in comparison to the original and the animations are quite good. Although, you have to sit in front of the PC while playing it. Otherwise you won't see much because this game stays in its original resolution no matter what. Also it takes a lot of time to make anything happen in terms of events (I didn't look in the enclosed walkthrough, though). Summertime Saga (v.14.01, PC) Ren'Py game demo. Liked the new content, but parts of it are quite buggy. Nevertheless, it's still my favorite visual novel and I'm looking forward to the final version =) Violated Heroine (v.170722_translated_V3, PC) RPG Maker 2000 game. Briefly played it and I'm not a fan of it, as the characters randomly switch between certain alignments. For example, I fell off the train, got into town and screwed a kid without having the option of not doing so. A little later, a guy attacked me on the toilet and while my char liked it, she complained about it under tears when talking to the guards. Ah yes, the kid doesn't give a fuck, he talked to me like nothing happened. Also I have to buy clothes non-stop, as the monsters destroy them all the time when I try fighting them. Four Elements Trainer (v.0.5.07b, PC) Ren'Py game demo. Also a game I don't like. The portrait art is really good and looks like it could be from the original show. The rest of the game sucks a big dick, mainly due to the main character impersonating the avatar with his lousy dialogues which absolutely doesn't fit anywhere. Girls and Dungeons (v.1.3.4, PC) RPG Maker XP game. A dungeon crawler with completely original art (even the tilesets) and with visible monsters which are fought turn-based. Your main quest is to save the Lost Maidens, which will fight by your side after being saved. At the beginning, the game is fairly easy and not much of a challenge. This changes, when you defeat the first final boss and your merchant suddenly doesn't offer you certain items anymore. At least the parasite enemies drop healing herbs, which also up your attack stats. I also recommend always having one Omniseed and one MushroomBrew in your bag, as you can't get the last gallery pic (its entrance is on the map before the final boss area) without these two items. Anyway, the two most difficult puzzles were probably these: - Water Dungeon: I had no idea what to do, so I had to look it up the internet and hey, walking straight to the little chamber several times helped me reaching the teleporter. Although, I got teleported straight away when I tried to go through the red gate without cleaning myself in the pond right before it. - Temple: Read the sign, went 3x counter-clockwise the thing right next to the sign and read it again. It told me (if I want to proceed), that I had to go to the light. I had no idea what that meant and had to look it up on some youtubers channel, where he clicked on one of the lamps to make a mechanism clearing the way for him. Well, at least I was able to go further. The hardest bosses are obviously the guild members, except the last one. When he (like other bosses too) is out of MP, he won't do anything and just waits until you kill him. The end itself was pretty anti-climatic, after the credits roll I pushed some buttons and probably bugged out the entire game. I guess v.1.4.0 has this fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phew, these were a lot of games. All of them have more or less ero content and a few of them are garbage (imo). I find it interesting to look out for quality games in a sector, where 95% of the games are trash and/or have crappy fetishes. You can see it as fishing for gems at a flooded dumpsite. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Snessy the Duck - 10-30-2017 Super Mario Odyssey. God that game's so fucking good. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - miyabi95_ - 10-30-2017 thanks for opening this thread to more erotic-based games Davy. ^.^ sure it’s difficult to find an adult game with enough substance besides porn but i’ve certainly played a couple that gameplay-wise shatter expectations. there are some western indie games that contain erotica mainly as bonus material rather than the whole concept; i’ll have to look them up so i can share them here.
