RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - puggsoy - 10-31-2017 Been playing Rocket League with my brother lately, we've had it for a while but only now we actually made the time to sit down and try it out. It's hilariously fun, either 1v1 against each other or 2v2 against bots, and we'll probably try the online options at some point too. It really goes to show how much of a difference small things outside of the gameplay can matter though; I don't think it'd be half as fun if the ball didn't explode in the goal RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - sorapapu - 11-03-2017 Just finished Fallout 4 and the Far Harbor dlc, now looking to purchase Skyrim and dive right in. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - miyabi95_ - 11-05-2017 soul calibur V always knows how to grab back my attention every time i play it like...you get to create a waifu to play as + cool weapons and styles...step it up, warcraft and skyrim! RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Davy Jones - 11-14-2017 A Zombie's Life (v.1.0-beta2, PC) RPG Maker VX Ace game. Also your regular zombie apocalypse game, but apparently the bite of a zombie makes your dong bigger. You run around, fetch items and try to avoid zombies, which is not my cup of tea (I'm not very much into survival). Full Service (Official Demo v.1.8.3, PC) Ren'Py game demo. It's a very short visual novel, but with the highest cg quality I've seen so far in an ero game. It basically revolves around the main character Tomoki, who gets stressed from too much work and seeks relaxation in a spa (including gay encounters). Orc Castle - Disgraced Battle Maidens in Heat (PC) No idea about version number and engine, but at least it is uncensored and translated to English (like all ero games I play). This one is actually a puzzle game, you play an orc prince and try to set up traps for intruding female warriors to deplete their HP. There are only four encounters with h-scenes at the end of each successful capture, so it's not a very long game. The other downsides are the cheesy dialogues, which at least match the quality of the game's title. Ah yes, don't expect too much from the cg, it's very polished and therefore kinda soulless, you can see the same crap in x other games of this genre. The Dark Lord Rises (v.0.3.3b, PC) RPG Maker VX Ace game demo. Current version is v.0.3.4, but that doesn't really matter to me. For a classic turn-based RPG, this game is lazy (mapping), aimless (you run around the first city only to find a bunch of random events & dumb dialogues) and full of low quality content (3D ero cg, jokes about gender stuff, communism, snot magic, etc). The teacher dialogues from the city about magic and geography are somewhat meaningful, but this is pretty much it. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - NICKtendo DS - 11-15-2017 Sonic Forces on Switch I was bored, I had the money, I caved. It's better than expected, but those expectations were colored by a shit load of negative reviews and the graphical downgrade compared to other versions. Playing it, it feels no worse than the Sonic Adventure games. The Classic Sonic stuff is pretty bad though, but Sonic Adventure is no stranger to that either (glares at Big). I based my Avatar on Fockewulf from Tails' Skypatrol, by the way. I tried giving him the red clown nose, since he has a big red snout, but not that big. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Cytric Acid - 11-16-2017 Tried playing Monster Hunter Generations again today and grabbed some randos to fight Alatreon. One dude quadruple carted and I remembered why I dont hunt with randoms anymore... RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - miyabi95_ - 12-06-2017 phantasy star online is pretty great, wish i had an actual gamecube that i could hook up to play online tho. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Gussprint - 12-07-2017 So last night I looked at my game "collection", and remembered there's a few I haven't even started yet. So I thought "Hey, how about we actually START some of 'em before the year is over?" So I popped some Starfox Zero [WII U] in. About one year and then some after I grabbed a copy, because of course. ...You know, I was promised impossible controls that made the game unplayable. All I'm gettin' is something that just takes time to get used to. Then again, up to this point I've only played through the tutorial segment which serves to get you used to the controls, so what do I know? I'm sure I'll get to the "actual horridness" in due time. ...Or it could still just be stuff that takes time to adjust. That works too. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Garamonde - 12-07-2017 Just recently played The Neverhood; now playing Skullmonkeys, the sequel, and MediEvil. The Neverhood was a pretty fun point and click and I love the claymation style and the cutscenes, although the puzzles felt really abstract and tedious and I would have never beaten the game if I hadn't read a guide (I almost didn't because I couldn't get that damn symbol puzzle to work). Also because I didn't know what to do, I had to do a lot of backtracking and it's a little tricky/annoying getting back to some areas so those two things hurt the experience a bit for me. Still worth playing. I'm not sure how much more I like Skullmonkeys either. I'm at what, world three (there are 17 apparently, and I've played a LOT of levels up to now)? And so far even with the occasional boss battle it's almost the exact same platforming formula through lots of non-linear levels where you don't know where you should go, eventually reaching one of several goalpoints. It is fun and again the artstyle is topnotch, the cutscenes are even better this time around however far and few in-between they may be. And normally I don't have a problem with repetition in games, but I feel like Skullmonkeys doesn't really mix it up enough for having so many levels. Since I've put it down I've found it difficult to get motivated to play it again even though I do enjoy it. Now MediEvil, on the other hand... That's the goldmine of this post. I just started playing it today, at the Scarecrow Fields and I'm already in love with it. My friend had told me a lot about it a while back which got me interested long before I even downloaded the game (don't have a PlayStation, whoops). I did expect to be able to move freely with the analog stick, but not realizing that PS1 controllers didn't have those, I'm stuck with the directional pad controls on my Xbox 360 controller which makes moving around in a 3D space a little bit of work. As is customary with 3D games too, finagling with the camera can get to be a challenge as well. Aside from that, it feels like the right amount of challenge, the dialogue is fun, the weapons are fun to use and exploring is rewarding because you always need health and gold and stuff. I'm really looking forward to the second game, this is definitely holding my attention. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - WaterKirby1964 - 12-10-2017 I recently bought a Nintendo Switch, with Super Mario Odyssey and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. I played Super Mario Odyssey and it is Super Awesome! RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - Davy Jones - 12-10-2017 Noxian Nights (v.1.2.4, PC) RPG Maker VX Ace game. I find it fascinating how much content you can put inside a small amount of maps, especially for an ero game. This changes after you beat up the first group of soldiers and acquire party member 2 & 3 and fight your way through the underground caves. From that point, it's quite enjoyable to follow the story, fight and doing some chit-chat. Also unlocking ero scenes, of course (the game is pretty generous with its choices, you can choose lusty options or more conservative ones). It has also a crapload of endings, where one of them is even an entire new game. Definitely in my top 5 of ero games. Khendovir Chronicles: Rinets Quest (v.0.10.02, PC) RPG Maker MV game demo. Wow, this might be one of the hardest RPGs I've ever played. Especially the opportunities for healing are sparse, overnight stays don't automatically heal everything, etc. One of my characters even learnt a spell to dispel all negative status effects and... guess what? Can't do anything to broken bones, skull fractures, etc. you need special medication which costs a fortune. I'm now in prison at the last group of soldiers to free the last party member. I can't beat them, I don't have enough healing material, one of the characters can't even land hits properly due to special negative status effects which I can't take care of. I thought the last fight in Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete (PSX) was hard, but this is straight impossible due to bad game design. I'm not even complaining about the occasional typos, the terrain errors where you can walk over things or bugs where you lose 16 potions because the game can't put party member equipment together. My game characters are basically living on the edge, grinding is nearly impossible and I can't even train properly before the next big thing happens that drags me from cutscene to cutscene, dungeon to dungeon and fight to fight. I CAN walk around in towns doing sidequests, but I can't fight mobs (Yelden is an exception), the level upgrades in form of better stats are nearly worthless and the overpriced equipment in the shops is a joke. This is a shame, since story, characters and combat are really good plus the game gives you many choices with adequate consequences while the game progresses. RE: What Are you playing? the odyssey of backlogs - miyabi95_ - 12-11-2017 i need to get back to odin sphere leifthrasir and muramasa rebirth. there's just so much that needs to be covered i sometimes get...anxious(?) to move along with the stories. these games by vanillaware are more or less the technologically advanced version of interactive story books. not a bad thing of course, the stories tend to drag, but considering the gameplay and exploration aspects it's not a big deal to me. RE: What Are you playing? Snow games to play! - WaterKirby1964 - 12-15-2017 I've reached 322 Power Moons on Super Mario Odyssey RE: What Are you playing? Snow games to play! - Davy Jones - 01-06-2018 Futanari Quest (v.0.05, PC) RPG Maker MV game demo. Very short, plus the game doesn't give a damn about characters & dialogues (storyline was promising, though). Also the voice acting is kinda cheesy and not really neccessary for this kind of game, probably also the reason why the budget increased and the creators had to cancel it. V.0.05 has no combat system, since they tried to rearrange it with an own script, but this never came into action (except in the Nekomata battle, which was kinda random). Meltys Quest (v.1.03c, PC) RPG Maker MV game & the Undertale of porn. You can go full slut mode and bang everything you want or you're not losing a single battle and receive the purity ending. It has some garbage fetishes which gave me stomach issues (ass licking, urinating, screwing old people, corruption, netorare, smegma, birthing) and some other half-assed attempts (futa without balls, lack of yuri & incest scenes, dumb excuses for shota -> halflings, college student). Also the more you get into slut mode, the dumber the dialogues become, up to the point where you're not sure if the characters are actual human beings anymore. What else to say.. ah yes, the game comes with 3 different difficulties (Kogal, Princess, True Princess), six endings (depend on slut level and state of the castle, only for ending 1 you have to defeat Esmeralda) and uses a turn-based combat system where you can use spellls learned from worn clothes. Furthermore, the largest part of the graphics relies on the RPG Maker MV RTP. Monster areas itself are very short, not more than 2 small or medium-sized maps per dungeon with visible enemies. Therefore the longest part of the game is actually the amount of ero scenes. As a game being on Steam, it is normally censored with black bars, but I used an uncensor patch from the patreon page of the translator, Remtairy. RE: What Are you playing? Snow games to play! - miyabi95_ - 01-07-2018 i don't have a switch so puyo puyo 7 on a psp emulator will have to do. |
