That's always confused me. A 15 year old with a walking stick? (Or is it some kind of staff?)
But yeah I'd probably also see your ref as a female if I hadn't read his description properly. It is supposed to represent you after all, so referring to him as a guy would be like referring to you as a guy, which is like what I did my first month or so here
