speaking of wii games, what about umbrella cronicles? is it true that this game is impossible to rip?.. i know that Direct Ripper DX doesn't work but.. is there a converter or somebody working on a converter?

You'd have to check a Resident Evil modding community or something for that. There may very well be one, but I couldn't tell you.

Well you know your friend Google? I have this weird feeling he can help help you with that...

Due to the nature of that kind of content, we don't generally help people directly with obtaining it.

RE: How do you rip Models - senjen - 08-29-2011

well i found a 3d modeling ripper that can apparently rip most games from any system. Here's the link http://oasis.xentax.com/index.php?content=home

haven't tried it since my computer is really low on memory, i'm using a windows Xp -.-

RE: How do you rip Models - Shadowth117 - 08-29-2011

We actually use Noesis a lot here and it really does have the ability to read and export many formats though I'd hardly say it can rip "most" of the games on any system. It deals mainly with proprietary game formats although there are a few exceptions. Its probably the most useful single program available to convert models though things like 3D Ripper DX and 3D Via, being print screen esque rippers, are still far more useful for general ripping due to the sheer amount of things they can rip from even if Noesis does what it can rip from far better and covers more than just Windows programs.

i am trying to find modles for haseo weapons from .hack. i am trying to rip from hack link iso on psp but cant seem to find the moldes have tried using gitmo and noesis but not having any luck

RE: How do you rip Models - Shadowth117 - 08-31-2011

Apparently that game uses .cpk's to store its files so you could extract it with Noesis, but I'm not sure if its possible to convert models from the game.

RE: How do you rip Models - terrors - 08-31-2011

yeah i try using noesis to extract but there are all ccs files .. is there anyone working on .hack gu from ps2??
would try it myself but i do not have the game.

Alrighty, I think I'm pretty much free now, so what's the easiest model program to learn? I hear Blender's hard and I don't want hard... Cry

And also, is there any difference in model quality with different programs?

RE: How do you rip Models - Shadowth117 - 09-10-2011

They all have somewhat high learning curves. I recommend Blender only because its probably the best free one. You can try other popular ones like Milkshape 3d and Fragmotion if you like.

There isn't a difference in model quality when previewing them really, but when doing the fancy render some programs work far better than others. Considering that most people use those renders for various types of artwork, its preferable to have a program that can do that nicely

*Year old reply*

So in short I kinda have to use Blender because it does everything better than the other programs? I was gonna try Milkshape 3D I guess to get the hang of modelling in general though. Would that be okay for rendering?

Also I wanted to rip a few N64 models but upon reading the tutorial, I saw before long that it was waaaaay out of my league right now, lol.

RE: How do you rip Models - Shadowth117 - 10-03-2011

You certainly wouldn't have to, but its a lot better for you in the long run. The learning curve would be more worth it in the end for Blender, but whatever works works Smile It has a lot of support, but in the end whatever works for you is the best one.
