Take that, and fine tune it. Make another GOOD game. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Vipershark - 08-17-2008 Like I said: Fine tune what you have first, and then go from there. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Koopaul - 08-17-2008 Yes this ground level camera makes it really hard to see things around you. I remember reading in an interview that this new camera angle was coined up in Sonic 06 to give players a better feeling of how fast Sonic moves. But like I mentioned before its not really more speed that is needed here but a more free roaming gameplay. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Yoder - 08-17-2008 Sega should make another Adventure-like title with a raom-able 3d world, but they do need another engine. The hedgehog engine should stay (or at least the one in rivals), because it gives us some hope for a 1-3&k remake. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Flare - 08-17-2008 I believe its been said before that the hedgehog engine is a graphic engine, it helps render shadows, textures and objects when going at high speeds. They need to bring back the SA1 free roaming worlds where you could go where you wanted, when you wanted. I don't think Sega ever said it was only a graphical engine. I think they meant to say that everything (at least in the daytime stages) was utilizing the hedgehog engine. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Flare - 08-17-2008 "Sega is promising to spice up this latest incarnation. They’ve introduced a “Hedgehog Engine,” which they claim “introduces impressive lighting abilities and new technology tailor made for Sonic’s new speed capabilities.”" "As Sonic, Sega is utilizing a proprietary engine that they’ve worked on since 2005 called the Hedgehog Engine, made specifically to stream architecture quickly for high-speed movement in-game" "The team has been working for the past 3 years on the Hedgehog Engine, which is being used to power both the Xbox 360 & Playstation 3 versions of the game, while developers will be working hard to develop visuals that mimic the engine on the Nintendo Wii." I haven't heard anything about the hedgehog engine being referred to movement, collisions, game-play, I have only heard it being referred to as being how the game will render things and how at the game will be able to cope with Sonic's high speed. I haven't read or heard anything like, the hedgehog engine will allow Sonic to run in complete 360 degrees or you will have greater control over Sonic's jump by using this hedgehog engine. So I take it that its just the graphical side and how it will work with Sonic's high speeds. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Koopaul - 08-17-2008 Well, then Sega has no idea what they need to improve upon... RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Flare - 08-17-2008 They have improved a lot from the camera to the controls, but I was just saying the Hedgehog Engine is having the game deal with speed in the graphical department which is why the wii won't have such engine cause the wii can't handle such graphics anyway. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Yoder - 08-17-2008 Those sources aren't conclusive, since they also aren't saying that it is only graphical. I happen to think that they are just highlighting the feature of it that they are most proud of. Since the Wii/PS2 has inferior graphics and processing power, the entire engine needed to be remade. RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Rakia - 08-18-2008 Hey cool I have a 7 page topic \m/ RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Dawn_C_Sunset - 08-21-2008 Im hope Unleashed will be good. What i would love to see in Sonic is: SPEED let's run Relly fast do some loops laeve the sound barrier in the dust and stop becuase of Eggman and Robots that are EVEYWHERE Maybe a Co-op Mode both AI and playble,Not like Heros:O,. SA1-2 gameplay And I would love for them to use the comics for the storys but somehow i don't think that will work... As for what they've done recently from SonicHeros up it's been bad,But i did like the party mode in Secret Rings,NextGen was uhhhh the wosrt ever. Well, theres how i look at it!If Unleashed Stinks im going to move on to something alse!>:) RE: Sega admits Sonic is falling - Flare - 08-21-2008 Well I think with Unleashed we will finally see whether Dimps or Sega Team can handle Sonic level design better. |
