RE: Probably not Pokemon - Gors - 12-15-2011 the tip I can give when making complex objects is to break it down to simpler solids. this isn't a perfect example per se, but here you can see I marked the center of the character's face and his skull with light green, and made a pyramid to base out the bird hat. Clearly, you can notice that his skull should be a little bigger and the hat should accomodate his head. Also, the beak should be tilted a little more. See how it gets easier to understand when you break down to simpler solids. We can imagine them easier than irregular shapes such as body parts or clothes. Use this technique whenever you are in doubt about placements, or when you want to make foreshortening.
