RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - Mutsukki - 04-28-2012 Woah calm down. What has the clichĂȘ story of Uncharted to do with high res graphics? I like the series, even if the story is kinda predictable sometimes (but not really that much) and I can say that much of the joy from playing it is because it's visually stunning, it feels and looks great. Also, Uncharted is pretty hard on harder difficulty settings, just fyi. How is Bioshock an example of really bright lighting if the game is dark as fuck? That's called contrast, something that is needed for that mood. Unless you mean the newer one which is not underwater, but that seems alright to me. Headache from playing FPS or 3D games seems to happen with some people, it has nothing to do with the game's quality. I also like how "your opinion = universal truth". RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - senjen - 04-28-2012 on my tv Bioshock isn't that dark at all XD sorry about that rant it was just my opinion is all I do agree that visuals can be awesome too nowadays games are considered art more so nowadays then they use to be, also some of my friends are huge halo nerds -.- i was never a halo nerd ever, and they kept bashing Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword saying the graphics were bland, the gameplay was bad and the characters had no emotion, they thought twilght princess was way better -.- and they said the new Halo coming out Halo 4 will pwn anything made by nintendo ever. I have no idea what the hell to focus on in most games these days. It's the total opposite for me. Doom is crystal clear, and TF2 is... well, it's better than most, but it's still difficult for me to keep track of. RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - TGE - 05-04-2012 Definitely the Gamecube; because of all the memories from my childhood and the awesome games that were on it (TLZ Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine, Beyond Good and Evil) RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - 727 - 05-19-2012 Gotta go with the Super Nintendo, they still haven't matched it in terms of numerous classics of every genre. RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - Goemar - 05-20-2012 The SNES was my first console which was actually mine (brother had the Mega Drive/Genesis a few years before that) and I loved it but I wasn't really much of a gamer back then. The N64 was awesome, the amount of hours I spent playing Perfect Dark are probably more than I care to think about and Mario 64, Kart, Golf, Smash Bros, Conker's BFD (oh god the multi-player was brilliant, Beach was just so much god damn fun). Basically the N64 was god damn awesome and probably the most fun I've ever had with 4 people, a TV and a sofa (though the 2 TVs, 2 Sofas and 8 people award goes to system-link Halo). The Game Cube in comparison was well... crap. I was a huge Nintendo nerd at the time so back then I would have defended it too the bitter end (to the point we imported it from America as we was sick of Nintendo being shit at getting games here on time) but looking back it was nothing compared to the N64. All the sequels/next games in the franchise weren't as good as the ones before them (Tennis, Golf, Kart, Zelda) and apart from Luigi's Mansion no single player experience was really that amazing. Of course Melee was awesome, and with 2 brothers in the house that game was worth the price of the console alone. In fact... that's pretty much all we played. Analogue sticks met there ends thanks to the sheer number of hours pumped into that game. During this time I discovered the PS2, played God of War, Okami, SSX Tricky etc. and started becoming more Sony orientated. I loved the Wii for a week, and then it just wasn't really what I wanted in a console. Brawl was ok. Hell, it might be a better game but at this point I was at Uni, my older brother was else where and it was just my younger bro at home so a lot of the fun I had with Melee just wasn't possible with the Wii and Brawl. I think that's what killed Nintendo for me - I loved the local multiplayer but growing up killed it and online gaming just isn't my thing at all (not to mention my internet is through a dongle at the moment). Mario Party 9 has got the Wii plugged back in again mind, as skill isn't really that important it's something everyone enjoys. But well... favourite has to be the NES. Got one after my N64 and the sheer brilliant design of some of the games on that system just stand the test of time like no other. MegaMan II, Little Samson, Crisis Force, SMB3, Ninja Gaiden II. The NES is still amazing today, if not better than what's currently on offer. RE: Favorite Console? (Nintendo) - 727 - 05-20-2012 I haven't really seen any system match the sheer quality of titles from Super Nintendo except maybe PS2. This is just taking into account the massive library from every genre. I enjoyed the N64,gamecube, and Wii but none of them had the quality of depth as the SNES. |
