RE: Suggestions - Petie - 07-04-2022

That would likely require either core file edits or a plug-in. I’ve honestly never really looked into adding buttons but I can see if there’s an easy way to do it.

RE: Suggestions - shadowman44 - 01-30-2023

A friend of mine was frustrated how they could not see their pending revisions in their "pending" page, could you implement a way to see them as well as to cancel the submission, in case you need to revise it again?

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 01-30-2023

This has come up frequently but the pending page is specifically for pending submissions. There is not currently a way for users to view pending revisions and this functionality will likely not be implemented with revisions as they are now.

RE: Suggestions - scurest - 02-05-2023

There was some discussion on the latest announcement about the model checker. I thought I'd move it here with some specific ideas

1. Serve the checker as a normal webpage that displays instead of downloading (ie. without content-disposition:attachment). It's cool that you can download the .html and use it offline, but it shouldn't be necessary. This would greatly decrease the friction in actually opening the checker. Also using it online ensures you're always on a up-to-date version.

2. Allow the checker tool to accept zip files and check the contents by using a JS zip library. I think I posted a mockup for this when the checker was first announced. This would allow the checker to operate on the same .zip that you upload, which would allow checking image paths and also enable...

3. Add a button to run the checker on the zip on the model upload page. It would still run client-side, not server-side. It could also display a simple pass/fail, referring to the checker page in case of failure for the full report.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 02-05-2023

I have no problem with this if the zip processing happens on the client side and Peardian wants to implement zip functionality (I don’t maintain the tool - just host it and keep it up to date). Being able to run it from the upload form would make sense for sure.

RE: Suggestions - GianaSistersFan64 - 03-10-2023

I don't know if this was suggested before, but I think there should be an expanded version of the submission stats. Like the number of hits and comments from all of our submissions.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 03-10-2023

The submitter stats page was intentionally kept fairly simple on purpose, especially once we switched its default view to icons. Adding in hits would likely be simple enough but adding comment counts would slow the page down quite a bit.

RE: Suggestions - teh_supar_hackr - 04-11-2023

Would a close button for site notices that appear at the top be possible to add? Like the one currently on all pages mentioning the planned maintenance.

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 04-11-2023

There is no current plan to implement such a feature given that they are typically used to convey important information and don't show up frequently. It's something I've thought about though and will consider doing if announcements like this become more frequent.

Actually, I take that back. I was initially concerned people might miss actually important announcements but I just came up with a simple to implement way to handle closing just the current announcement and will do it tomorrow. For reference, the solution will be cookie-based for now so you'll need to close it on each site unfortunately but that will change for logged in users once we decouple the sites from the forum.

Edit: Okay, this should be in now. Let me know if you notice any issues with it!

Just saw the feature and it works well!

RE: Suggestions - Yawackhary - 05-12-2023

Just thinking maybe the BBC Micro and Acorn Electron should be merged together, some arguments for the merger:

1 ) They are both from the same manufacturer (Acorn makes the BBC Micro and the upgraded Master). The Electron is to put it simply, a redesigned version of the BBC Micro accessible for the home as that computer was expensive and was mainly at UK schools back in the 1980s (comparable to the Apple II in the US). They have the same main graphics mode, same processor.
2 ) They share a library with many games that would work on both computers. The compatibility between the two varies due to some technical differences e.g. any Teletext mode games won't work on the Electron, cutdown sound on the Electron, speed differences. Some games especially later releases were dual coded or had a revision that would work on both. tSR only has 1 Electron rip that also has a BBC Micro counterpart while Chuckie Egg, Chess (Acornsoft) and Podd that got Micro rips are also on the Electron.

While the main BBC Micro site doesn't list Electron compatibility (but does on Model A, B and Master, mostly B), Acorn Electron World however does list system compatibility on a game e.g. BBC/Electron or Acorn Electron.

2a) The library situation is similar to according to the site; the DS/DSi, Game Boy, Neo Geo and Amiga or in a way Master System/Game Gear.
3 ) If the Atari systems and computers (outside of Atari ST and Lynx) have its own section and the LeapFrog merger that happened...

If it does get merged, propose that it gets the BBC Micro name as it is more well known of the two, unless tSR gets rips from the earlier (Atom) or later (Archimedes, RISC OS based) Acorn computers in the future. Then again those are a lot more different.

I think the GBA 2 Games in 1 series should all be put into just one game since they all have just one sheet. (which is kind of a waste of space in my opinion.)

here's an example I made for this.

But they're all separate game carts?

RE: Suggestions - gyroscoperidertoppy - 06-15-2023

maybe we could add a new category for acorn archimedes games on TSR (in the Other Systems tab)? there were quite a lot of games released for that

RE: Suggestions - Petie - 06-15-2023

We don't just add empty categories. If someone submits a game and sheet for that console, it will be added at that time.
