RE: Victory fanfares? - Ton - 12-06-2009 I thought each character was going to have a unique loop and share a fanfare? RE: Victory fanfares? - GaryCXJk - 12-06-2009 Yes, and it still is. What's the point you're trying to make? [Super Mario - Jingle (Peach?)] RE: Victory fanfares? - Gors - 12-06-2009 sharing the fanfare and having a different loopfor each character is the best idea so far also, great job, Gary! RE: Victory fanfares? - GaryCXJk - 12-06-2009 [Metroid - Jingle] It's the easiest I've made so far, but I want to make it a bit easier to loop. Right now the synth pad in the background flails a lot, and there's no way to achieve the same eerie effect without the flailing. On the other hand I also want to just completely rework the synth into something more engaging. Since it's a victory jingle loop for a Metroid game, I do feel it should have an eerie feeling, and in this case less is good, but I'm open to your suggestions. Also, should I just open a new topic about all music that's going to be in this fangame? I mean, I imagine that fanfares and jingles aren't the only types of songs we're going to use in the game. That, and it makes it easier for everybody to track every (approved) piece of music. RE: Victory fanfares? - Crappy Blue Luigi - 12-06-2009 That would probably be a good idea. We could work on what songs would be added and whatnot. Also, I don't recognize the Metroid loop. What's the source? RE: Victory fanfares? - Kitsu - 12-06-2009 It's the "Oh shi- there's a boss coming up" theme. I don't remember the name, but it often plays before and/or after a boss battle, especially if there's a item to be won after the battle. Actually, the more I think about it, it's likely only played after a boss is beaten. @Gary, your music stuff is really great! Also, I think there already was a bit of a music discussion topic in here somewhere, but I guess you could make a new one if you feel it'd be a good idea to start fresh. RE: Victory fanfares? - Sol - 12-06-2009 Isn't the Metroid loop the title music to the original Metroid? I really like all the music you've been doing, Gary. Question though; is that jingle for Samus or Ridley? It seems perfect for Ridley, but almost too ominous for Samus. That tune works great as a victory jingle, though. RE: Victory fanfares? - Ton - 12-06-2009 I think it's perfect for Ridley too. Gary I'm really stunned by this. You're awesome. If you need me to get the tracks I listed for you to check out, just let me know. And if you want to start a new topic and keep the first post updated, I'm very ok with that and I'll sticky it for you. It's called "Silence," it is the theme that plays before finding an item. I also agree that it works well for Ridley, but maybe Samus should have her SM theme or one of the title themes. RE: Victory fanfares? - GaryCXJk - 12-07-2009 It's also the theme played during the elevator sequence in both the original Metroid and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, apparently. Also, holy crap I almost forgot about Ridley. RE: Victory fanfares? - Ekoi - 12-07-2009 As for an idea for Waluigi, how 'bout something from the Sonic and Mario: Olympic Games series? Granted, I've never played any of the games, but since he only appears in sports and party games, why not something from the mother of all sporting events? WAH! RE: Victory fanfares? - Sol - 12-07-2009 We could use the tune from the Waluigi Pinball stage in Mario Kart DS for his fanfare or jingle. Would that work? RE: Victory fanfares? - Ton - 12-07-2009 Let's migrate discussion to Gary's topic. |
