RE: 3DS Impressions - Helmo - 03-25-2011 Ok im a bit bigger of a nerd than that, but recharge-able battery so... no big deal. I won't do much more than 4 hours unless if im really hooked. RE: 3DS Impressions - Negative-Zer0 - 03-25-2011 I don't have enough time in the day to play 5 hours a day, where the hell do you guys find this time? RE: 3DS Impressions - The_Doom-ed_one - 03-25-2011 I'm going to extend upon my review considering I didn't know I could actually pick the system up from the kiosk. It was attached with the force of an electromagnet; I thought I was going to tear it off the first time I tried to pick the system up. Upon picking it up I noticed some different things including this: As long as you are staring at the system dead on (meaning ABSOLUTELY NO TILTING IN ANY DIRECTION), your brain adjusting your depth perception does NOT have the side effects I originally listed. You can look off into the distance and up close to the character and it will be just fine: However... If you found it difficult to find the 3D sweet-spot while it was sitting still, it gets worse when holding the system. Unless you are built like a robot, you will slowly drift the DS while playing and holding the system, which gets very frustrating if you are trying to enjoy the game in 3D as it was constantly getting distorted for me. I feel holding the system in the correct spot can be easily mastered, but while you get adjusted, it's maddening and causes a headache. For the rest of my review, go back a few pages, as I have no more changes to make for now. Just plug in a charger and play it normally. RE: 3DS Impressions - Candescence - 03-26-2011 Yeah, the battery isn't an issue for me, I keep my DS plugged in most of the time. However, for those who still think it's an issue, get the Nyko Power Pack, which basically doubles the 3DS's battery power. Awesome. RE: 3DS Impressions - Sol - 03-26-2011 It was a joke. RE: 3DS Impressions - GrooveMan.exe - 03-26-2011 Oh! I honestly couldn't tell, I feel kinda mean now. RE: 3DS Impressions - Sol - 03-26-2011 (03-26-2011, 02:01 PM)GrooveMan.exe Wrote: Oh! It's no problem! I should have made it a bit more obvious. I do actually play games for long periods of time like that occasionally, but it's not like I need to. A five hour battery life is going to be enough for most long car rides or breaks between class and such, and like Tyvon said, when you're at home you can just plug it into the wall. That's what I do with my DS lite, although that's mostly because I've played it so much it dies after a couple of hours. RE: 3DS Impressions - Helmo - 03-26-2011 The D-pad location seems to be in a awkward place... Also ive never played a Layton game or a PW game and this crossover looks pretty awesome, definatly gonna get. RE: 3DS Impressions - PrettyNier - 03-26-2011 I would like to see a 3DS port of Super Castlevania IV so that I can see mode 7 in 3D. Hearing about it [importing games] frequently, and putting aside the wider selection of titles and localization issues, I hardly see the point of it. EDIT: (03-26-2011, 03:36 PM)Uncle Sam Wrote: The D-pad location seems to be in a awkward place... This isn't really a first, after all, the D-pad on the gamecube controller was pretty awkward (let alone have little use.) Perhaps Nintendo was trying to make the control layout somewhat similar to this, I mean yeah it isn't exactly what the 3DS has but it's likely they were trying to imitate that a wee bit. RE: 3DS Impressions - JackMan - 03-26-2011 It looks... Kinda.. Well, I'd buy it. It's more powerful than the Wii, correct? I wonder how much two Gamecubes would go for if I sold 'em.. But yeah. Ocarina of Time and Starfox 64 are enough to sell it. The new Super Mario and Paper Marios look kinda... iffy, to me. I'll probably end up getting them anyway. Fuckin' Nintendo.. and their marketing genius. I am fluent in japanese so there is no language barrier for me!! oh boy it has finally arrived oh WELP MY AMERICAN DS WON'T ACCEPT THIS NIPPONESE CARTRIDGE I JUST LOST FIFTY BUCKS i wonder WHY does region lock STILL EXIST. It serves zero purpose, specially in such a globalized world. Zero. It's only there just to alienate gamers who want to play some good games that don't get american/european versions or whatever because they're not popular enough or wouldn't "appeal to those audiences". Either that or to incentive players to pirate their fucking consoles. RE: 3DS Impressions - PatientZero - 03-26-2011 Or to stop people playing games that aren't rated for their country, were never intended to be released there, and could get them involved is some serious legal disputes? Or to stop people just importing games from countries with weaker economies and effectively crippling the games retail industry in their country of origin? No wait, I take that back, they just do it because they don't want to let you play their games, developers hate people playing their games. RE: 3DS Impressions - Koopaul - 03-26-2011 Indeed I would have loved to play that Tingle game. It was released in Europe so I would have been able to read it... oh well. Homophobia wins again. |
