Cut the shit.
sorry, i didn't want to assume flannel was responding to me, you know what happens when you assume. ( u make an ass out of u and me Smile )
and that was the one "passive aggressive" statement in this correspondence.

i'll "cut the shit" but that's not really going to be much of a shift, considering. imo

I don't even read reviews (and take them seriously, at least) anymore. They have successfully become unreliable measures of quality of anything that has even the slightest hint of subjectivity to it.

I wasn't being passive aggressive, I read your post as if you we're saying reviews aren't reliable and to solely decide things on your own. Which wasn't what you were saying so it was just a circumstance of misunderstanding. If wasn't meant to be a jab in any way

Honestly I see nothing wrong with anything Jason has posted. Nothing he said was really out of turn, everything is valid. I agree however that this is bottom of the barrel. I was really hoping for a Devil May Cry that resembled the first and second (that may be the nostalgia goggles on), but this simply isn't it. There's nothing of substance or challenge in this game that I can see (a prime example being the youtube video Jason posted). I don't even have an issue with aesthetics, the dialogues and game play are terrible enough to make me throw this one out the window.

Also I'm a tad confused on that comment about Anarchy Reigns, are you saying that it needed hype to be good/make others think it's good? Because that's not the case at all. While the story line is whatever, the characters are all interesting and unique to play as (debate-able when it comes to certain aspects of the Rin sisters and Gargoyle/Garuda almost being a re-skin (technically I think Garuda is a modified Gargoyle?). But the online (the main focus/selling point of this game) offers a unique, expansive and challengingly competitive experience. While it's set at a very affordable price I can't see any reason to compare it to this. (again maybe I misread your post, feel free to call me on it. I just woke up.

DMC's gameplay's pretty good from what I played, everything is very smooth and combat's a lot deeper than many are willing to admit.

no

the only original negative thing people had for anarachy reigns when it was coming out was that it didn't originally wouldn't come to our shores

it's also some quasisequel to madworld, one of the more popular/liked wii games except ported to a console which could do a bit more for a game like madworld
it had a really positive community outlook with a lot of hype along with it having a great price tag announced at 30 dollars plus a bayonetta preorder character

dmc dmc sort of had the whole torch and pitchforks ready to hoist tameem up on a stake as a sacrifice to the blood gods

I was simply implying dmc dmc needed some form of hype to readily pick it up over the competition while also being better than the competition also

I've played all of the DMC titles at least once, and personally, I see no problem with the new Dante. Sure he cusses abit, but I think it's better than the pretty boy anime cliche Capcom had been sticking with for years. Plus critics have praised the story and gameplay so the writing can't be all bad. I have yet to play the new one myself, but given the reception, I think I'll be happy with the reboot.

RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Proton - 01-19-2013

i've been bored so I've been playing it with a friend and oh boy
post-purchase rationalization

I feel sort of disappointed more so because capcom has always been a herald and forefather of beat em ups and hack n slashes, you know?
they've been doing them since the beginning and after not liking asura's wrath and then watching other companies like platinum or rocksteady walking in and just dominating over them sort of hurts to see

but uh,
I still don't take old dmc into light since I didn't play enough of it to have a more personal relationship,

but
dmc dmc story and writing rival 50 shades of grey

luckily for everyone, it's a video game and gameplay is more important, especially in a beat em up/hack n slash

it's just,
again,
this game doesn't deliver anything for the genre that's innovative
nor fresh, nor exciting

the platforming is also so out of place and distracting that it just shouldn't be in there

I dunno, but this game does not deserve anything above a 6
and yes, go ahead and like it, but you're out of your mind if you think this is as good of a game as reviewers say it is

luckily though, should you enjoy the action this game has to offer, you can treat yourself to the bloody palace mode which should hopefully be a challenge to you
