Yes. Was not thoroughly impressed at all. The games are kinda fun and everything but the storyline and the characters are just so blech. It wouldn't matter that much if it wasn't an RPG. Storyline kinda matters, and if it's shit-poor I'm not going to play it.

I never really could get into the Kingdom Hearts series. Mainly the fanbase was a turn-off, I know that's a really lame excuse, but it's true. x___o;

I agree, really. Seeing Setzer in the game and done as well as he was, was one of the few saving graces for Kingdom Hearts II to me. But I really doubt they could pull off most of their classic FF chars that well. Especially after seeing what they did to the other FF chars in the series in general. I really don't want to see 10 year old Terra skipping rope.

Going from a 2D model of an older version of Setzer to a 3D model of a younger version of him? I'd say that's a pretty damn good job. The finer details aren't in place, but it's clearly the same person, which you can't say for most of their FF chars. And most of those FF chars were 3D to begin with. Personally I'm more fond of the 3D model anyways. The 2D model, (Which is only an artists depiction of a 16-bit sprite.. Much like the 3D model is.. Let's not glorify it as more than it really is) is just too gay and girly for me. And I myself am pretty gay and girly. So that's saying something.

I guess you missed the part where he wasn't a full grown man in KH2.. He was kiddified. (But luckily not totally bastardized like the other kiddified FF models)
Not to mention there's plenty of alternate universe/scifi bullshit to explain away any misconceptions you might have that they are supposed to be the same Setzer. It was a cameo, like any of the rest of the FF characters who showed up. It could have been worse. It coulda been more emo-drama like Cloud, Sephiroth and Auron were.

Heh, identifiability wasn't really what I was addressing. If they were only meant to be identifiable, than they succeeded with every FF char with Setzer being up there among the best.
And I like Auron well enoughas a character. Just not fond of the emo-drama role he was given with the other fangirl characters in KH to appeal to the droll 'zomg life sucks soooo hard.. Oh woe is me, oh WOE IS ME!!!' crowd that seems to make up not only our teenager's these days, but sadly, my own generation before them.
I'm not saying they should have put on Hawaiian shirts and gone for a stroll through the park, but the drama with the FF majors was entirely overdone in KH2. I miss the age when video games and movies could do well without characters that made you want to slit your own wrists, much less theirs.
