RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Runouw - 09-20-2009 For a flash engine, its completely unnecessary. But It would be useful if you wanted the game to be on the DS. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Medevenx - 09-21-2009 How about this style, right here? My own style. This animation uses the old Kirby (no outline) This animation uses the old Mario (fugly) RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Koopaul - 09-21-2009 Kinda pillow shady. I really wanna see something with outlines. Characters and Items have outlines, while the stage is NOT outlined. Also i was wondering if we could make Bowser look a little err... more like Bowser. I mean his stance. He's too hunched over. I know that's how they made him in Brawl, but a more upright Bowser would certainly look more awesome. Once we settle on a style I plan to ask Devicho to try her hand at Jr. I'm sure Bowser will come from that. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kirbyfan - 09-21-2009 Maybe this style? (the second one) Just an idea. Though, it is pretty similar to what we have now... RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Baegal - 09-21-2009 IMO, I think like what everybody's been saying, I think they should have an outline, and use vibrant colors, with maybe 3-4 shades on something. And maybe look a little less realistic. Like have mario's pants more blue instead of denim and links hair more yellow instead of brown. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kirbyfan - 09-21-2009 I think that we should try to give it outlines, more vibrant colors, but still keep it realistic. EDIT: Style of that Vietiful Joe? (cannot spell right) RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Ton - 09-21-2009 Viewtiful Joe is supposed to mimic a cel-shaded style. That would only work well on him and Toon Link. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - tsr moderation staff - 09-21-2009 well he does have a cartoonier style beyond the cellshading. also this is the only style change i would agree to simply because it would inflate my glorious ego RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Koopaul - 09-21-2009 (09-21-2009, 10:10 PM)Tonberry2k Wrote: Viewtiful Joe is supposed to mimic a cel-shaded style. RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Black Boo - 09-26-2009 nevermind there goes my not reading posts carefully again RE: I hate to do a topic like this - Kitsu - 10-18-2009 Until a set style is decided upon, I suggest that interested spriters make temporary sprites. The temporary sprites can rely on just 8 colors, instead of the usual 16 colors, and don't worry too much about details. Try to aim for Melee type colors, but realize that palettes are temporary. Later, when a style is finally decided upon, we can just do simple edits to fix the stand-ins. As for sizes, just stick with the sizes we have, for now. If we do end up changing sizes, the most that would be required would usually be just an extra pixel; but, even if it requires more, you can simply resize the sprite and fix it up. With just 8 colors, this should be easy, provided we don't venture into arcade fighter sizes, which is very unlikely...
