RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Koopaul - 07-12-2015 This should be it's own topic. Somebody please do so. I can't, it's too hard. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Kriven - 07-13-2015 Metroid should take a totally different approach with its next villain... a conservationist who wants save the metroid species from going extinct. Someone who views Samus as little more than a poacher. Someone who views Samus as little more than a poacher. I kinda wished they took this route with Pikmin and Pikmin 3. I really wished they put conservationist spin on it and had like, Pikmin rights activists protesting on Hocotate, unearthing the conspiracy of how Olimar always gets back home alright while condemning Hocotate Freight's unchecked usage of Pikmin in the middle of space exploration, even going as far as to send themselves off to the planet Olimar goes to and occupy bridges and other places so Olimar can't advance without some Pikmin to carry them off back to his ship But then it was "Oh we lost Olimar gotta go find him. Oh and we're running out of natural resources AGAIN" Oh well, there's always Pikmin 4 right? RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Keychain - 07-15-2015 I would buy a Pikmin 4 RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Shulk - 07-29-2015 Why is there no tourneys held for Dong Dong Never die, Candy Crush, and Shrek Racing? Obviously they are EVO 2015 material. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - recme - 07-29-2015 evo is a fighting game tournament. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Jermungandr - 07-30-2015 Hey they added three classic Kirby games to the Wii U eShop today apparently, including Kirby 64 which is my personal favorite. Another is Squeak Squad, which is another great title that I feel went wildly underappreciated. And actually ... it's one of the few DS titles I think would actually work pretty well on the Wii U. Gameplay on screen, storage-stomach on the touchpad ... yeah that sounds pretty good actually. (Though I'd probably still recommend the original DS copy if you can find it). RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Keychain - 07-31-2015 I've always wanted to play Return to Dreamland so I'm really glad I'll have a better opportunity to now. Squeak Squad is really cool. I used to pretty much get Kirby games back to back when I was a kid. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Helmo - 07-31-2015 Squeak Squad was the first game I 100% It's not bad by any means but it sure was underwhelming IMO. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - TomGuycott - 07-31-2015 One point of interest in Squeak Squad was the concept of getting "super powered" versions of various normal powers by finding hidden scrolls. It also had a (rarely used) system of being able to mix certain abilities together, particularly Sword abilities with certain elements. The most underwhelming thing in my opinion was the end of the game RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Helmo - 07-31-2015 (07-31-2015, 10:20 PM)TomGuycott Wrote: One point of interest in Squeak Squad was the concept of getting "super powered" versions of various normal powers by finding hidden scrolls. Yeah I think they need to bring back ability mixing from kirby 64, that was fun to find all the combos as a kid. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - TomGuycott - 07-31-2015 What I think would be stellar is 64 style ability mixing with Superstar style powers, like with a vast moveset to go with it. Would probably be immensely complicated to do, but I could really get behind that as a new console title for Kirby if they went that route. RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Koopaul - 08-01-2015 You'd have to put some limits somewhere. I once tried to come up with a Superstar 64 hybrid. It was incredibly complicated. I did have a couple of really cool ideas like Hammer + Sword = Axe RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Kitsu - 08-01-2015 I actually disliked ability mixing not because the concept is bad but 64 had 49 different powers, counting all combinations roughly half of them were useless, another 25% used only in certain puzzles, and the other 25% were OP well I guess really they were all OP because enemies died in one hit anyways it was more a novelty than anything actually interesting perhaps there may be a better way to execute on the idea, but it seems that once you get that many different power-ups, even if you attempted to flesh out each and every one of them to be useful and unique, they'd start to bleed together really easily RE: GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!) - Koopaul - 08-01-2015 Things get hard when you put certain copy powers in the mix like Ninja. I mean what would Parasol + Ninja be? |
