RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 02-27-2011 Added the lizard, fixed/shrunk bodies and limbs. I wanted to wait until I had more to show, but eh, this'll do. Working on evolutions and a sprite of my Geodude equivalent... RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Chris2Balls [:B] - 02-27-2011 the shading needs more work, still seems flat. keep the updates coming! RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 03-12-2011 Decided to use an old design of mine (redone of course) for the new grass starters. Now that I look at it there are some places I'd edit, but I'll give it a little time in case I notice anything else I screwed up on. This is kind of awful but it's my second ever B/W animation, so yeah. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Gors - 03-12-2011 with common programs, you'll never achieve B&W style animation. They use modular spriting (they are pieces that rotate/change with programming commands) and it's hard to acheve with frame-frame animations. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Sengir - 03-12-2011 One of the things your B/W animation is missing is blinking. Every Pokemon has a blinking frame so they can reuse it for sleeping. Also, the lower body on the grass starter's 3rd evo looks a lot better than its upper body, I thinks it's the more black in the outline but idk RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 03-12-2011 (03-12-2011, 03:08 PM)Gors Wrote: with common programs, you'll never achieve B&W style animation. The more you know I guess? idk I might continue doing this style of animations anyways. They're good practice. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Gors - 03-12-2011 oh yes, animating is always good practice. I'm just saying that if not impossible, it'll be hard as balls to get B&W animation. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 03-12-2011 Yeah, I'm not aiming for exactly B/W style. Just Pokemon idle animations, sorta. Anyways, Hieros Gamos stuff: I've decided to change the style the HG sprites are done in so they're easier to make. Here's the specs: Sega Game Gear palette 4 colors + black and white All outer outlines are black I'm unsure on some parts of the sprite (especially the crystals), but the style itself is what I'm looking for help on. I want something that looks retro without being too outdated. I think I'm pretty close here. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Gors - 03-12-2011 the crystals should look more rigid, trhat is, sharp without any jaggy lines. Also beware of the circular highlights you're doing; they might draw attention to there instead of complementing the whole piece. and maybe, for a little more retro flavor, add a little dithering. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - GrooveMan.exe - 03-14-2011 I like the limited colour pallete for things like this, actually. Reminds me of earlier RPGs. The body is fine, but I think you might want to erase and redo the back. As it stands, it looks too blocky and unfocused. Try drawing in the individual crystals, instead of detailing the sillhouette you did before. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 03-19-2011 Should probably fool around with Dwartle's crystals later... so much to do. :c Salamendra was done last week, finished Millypod today. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Pidgeon - 03-20-2011 basic stage starter + goatee = artist!!! please don't make a firefighter Millypod is... missing three legs. :B I'm not sure about what you're trying to do with his front legs either. How do you plan to make this into four colors? It's already four colors. These are the same monster. It seems to bother everyone though, and it should be an easy enough fix. Rashoumon... I'll probably blend the ramp from the red into the fur, and make a dark purple for the dark shade of both heads... I can use white and black, too, so yeah. the second Dwartle was an edit made by another member. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - Pidgeon - 03-20-2011 Yes, I noticed. I just thought it was crazy weird. RE: Hieros Gamos, Fakemon and More - megaMasquerain - 04-11-2011 ohnoes a furry!!!! anyways, posting this for anatomy critique or something. clothes will be added later. |
