You guys are a bit late. The roster's been known for almost a week, and yes it's a very weak one despite the newcomers.

Hold on. Where the hell is Waluigi?

Yeah, seriously! What the hell? And not a single baby or Bowser Jr. in sight (though maybe some people appreciate that). D:

Looks good to me. Rosalina's on it and thats who I was hoping for.

RE: Mario Kart 7 (because I care!) - Phantom Killah - 11-18-2011

Really hope that there are more unlockable characters that they're just keeping secret. I have no problem with queen bee being on the roster, but not if it means regular characters that people actually care about got the axe.

That's exactly what happened. We got confirmation from Nintendo Power that this is the final roster.

That mean we get a roster with a shitty recolor and a fat queen instead of regulars like Waluigi.

Hey. I and a lot of other people like Metal Mario, why are you on a high horse calling him a shitty recolor? :L

Hating on Metal Mario is just wrong. I suppose you're going to hate Mario Golf 64's roster now because it also has Metal Mario in it?

Queen Bee deserves the brunt of the assault, as she was a minor NPC in two games. She's fat fetishist fodder at best, while Metal Mario is at least classic.

Seriously though the other newcomers are great. Lakitu and Wiggler do add some well deserved variety, and the proper addition of Shy Guy as well, but Waluigi's absence is a HUGE con.

Hopefully they rectify that in Mario Kart Wii-U which may not come out til 2013/2014. Considering the hardware, we should be expecting anywhere from 30 to 40 characters.

Except they didn't, unless they were adults that were alive in the time of DK Jr. Donkey Kong Junior (and probably the cartoons too, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) were made in the 80s. Super Mario Kart was made in the 90s. I know that doesn't sound like much, but that's enough time for a whole nother generation of gamers.

Most people that played Super Mario Kart were kids who only played Mario and maybe the original Donkey Kong, which didn't have DK Jr. as a character. Hence, most of the kids playing SMK didn't know about Jr.'s existence.

Actually... Yes! I hated the roster in Mario Golf 64. You couldn't even play as Mario in the start!

Baby Mario would like to have a word with you.

No Bowser JR?

Cancelled my pre-order, called the cops, murdered my family, smashed up the computer, burned down the house, found Waldo etc

RE: Mario Kart 7 (because I care!) - Chaoxys - 11-18-2011

Honestly, I'll probably only be playing as Metal Mario, Shy Guy, or Rosalina, so the roster isn't a big deal to me, but yeah, the cut characters still suck. The only thing I'm wandering is if Nintendo plans on releasing DLC characters. I swear I remember them saying 3DS games would take advantage of DLC, so I'm wondering if they are using Mario Kart, a game that many people will get, as a start for that.

RE: Mario Kart 7 (because I care!) - A.J. Nitro - 11-18-2011

Remember, Wario never appeared in Mario Tennis: Power Tour on the GBA, but Waluigi did. So it his turn to get the boot sadly. But I did hear about the possibility of DLC, too.

RE: Mario Kart 7 (because I care!) - Azure-Tranquility - 11-18-2011

I guess it wouldn't be farfetched to have 4 DLC characters to round out the roster at 20.

But it's Nintendo so I'm expecting the DLC to be free in a way. After all, the Wii & DS audience don't even know what DLC is, and honestly I'd prefer it if Nintendo didn't copy the other companies. DLC is and always has been a money grab.
