RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-06-2012 You misspelled "palette". RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Jermungandr - 07-06-2012 I added a few sheets to the previous post that I missed when I was initially writing it. If you are some sort of wizard and already saved all the files, you might wanna grab those ones on the tail end. Quote:EDIT: Big Bloston, Big Mossy, Blipper, Bubble Fish, Cidory, Elecra, Hoppin, Rivahely, Vertical Jump Fish 2, and Tortletummy are all unused; Bad Portal, Dice, and Tokudice are used, but their sprites are incorrect, i.e. Bad Portal is supposed to be smaller and shaped like a door with the appropriate door design, and Dice and Tokudice are light-blue, not orange. Big Bloston, Blipper, and Bubble Fish all appear in the game. I'll have to replay it to find the exact levels but I know I've seen each of them. I am fairly sure Rivahely is in the game at some point as well but not so sure on that one. Tokudice's pallets I took care of. See previous post. You are correct about the "younger" Tortletummy. I knew the enemy appeared twice in the game and when I saw two different sprites for him it was easy to assume that one was the one that appeared earlier in the game and the larger one was the one that appeared later. However I replayed through those levels recently and saw they were both actually the same sprites, just with a pallet swap. Which is a bit lamer if you ask me. But anyways yeah the younger Tortletummy needs to be moved to the unused sheets. Their "names" were due to the fact that they were listed in the ROM as "Manpuku" and "King Manpuku', so again, it was easy to assume if one was Tortletummy than the other would be King Tortletummy. For the Bad Portal you are probably thinking of the Flying Portal from my previous post. Funny story about that, the Kirby Wiki got the name of the enemy from our sheet, but it's not actually the official name of that "enemy". Which makes things kind of confusing since that is the source of where we're mostly getting the names for these enemies. But yeah I think the "Bad Portal" sheet is actually a beta version. As for the names of most of the sheets ... yeah there mostly just wasn't any information for them at the time. To be frank I'm not sure all of the names that appear on the wiki are 100% official. Quote:my only real problem with Mass attack sprites is that the more traditional Kirby enemies aren't well represented. for gameplay, This is actually one thing that many fans complained about but I actually absolutely love about this game! See the thing about the plot for this game that most people don't notice is that it takes place on the opposite side of Popstar. So if you think of Popstar as a 2-dimensional star, the "Dream Land" that we're used to seeing would be lying on the top side, and the islands Kirby is visiting in this game are on the bottom. So basically it's like if Kirby lived in North America and was visiting Australia. I think it's an awesome little detail. I think mechanics-wise the reason the wrote the plot that way was so they could get a large number of enemies with properties that would make them work better in a game that centered around Kirbies clinging to stuff rather than his normal methods. The usual enemies all pretty much have preset ways of acting and didn't allow for much versatility to make them work for these new interactions. Quote:You misspelled "palette". Yeah ... well ... your mom. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Dazz - 07-08-2012 Mighty Jetters, mind if I leave these to you? You know this series better than I do, and I think there might be a few duplicates that need to be handled? RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-08-2012 Okey everything is updated/uploaded/etc. now. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Jermungandr - 07-08-2012 Jetters here's some Big Birdee sprites from another file that you missed: http://www.jermungandr.net/junk_drawer/up_delutory.png I have a bunch more things ripped but I still need to make icons for them. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-08-2012 Oh thanks! Updated. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Jermungandr - 07-09-2012 New: Updates: Notes: - I am pretty sure Rocketon is unused. At the very least he does not appear in any of the space levels and that is the most logical place for him. - The Squeak Squad sheet is technically unfinished but I haven't been able to find the missing elements yet. I'll do an update to the sheet if/when I find them. - In regards to the section on TSR there's been some errors in your last update: The big Tortletummy is using the beta Tortletummy's icon, and the beta Tortletummy which should have been moved to Beta Elements is now missing altogether. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-09-2012 Oh there was a beta version? Sorry! I thought you were just updating it... Could you post the beta and the full versions again so I can fix it? "Wooooo!" RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-10-2012 Okay is this correct now? EDIT: Also everything is up now. RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Garamonde - 07-19-2012 Oh also, I was working on the list of things to rip for my official Kirby's Return to Dreamland TMR project, when I discovered a name correction and thought I'd take the time to share it: Dedede Robot's name is actually "HR-D3" (scroll down a bit and you'll see its KMA sprite). RE: Kirby Mass Attack - Starman125 - 07-23-2012 Yay, more sprites. Here's some corrections, though: Pullplants are called jerkweeds; Jumbo Pullplants are called turnips, Mini Cryballs are simply Cryballs (their "larger counterparts" are unused), and the Golem Hands are just called rock hands. And yes, Rocketon is unused. I've played through the entire game and haven't seen that enemy anywhere. Upsy isn't used either. EDIT: Also, in case you were wondering about the lowercase names, yes, that's how they're spelled. They're referred to as common nouns in-game. The Squeaks are allies in this game (NPCs), and the Mothership is just an object from an animation; most likely belonging in the Miscellaneous section. - Alternatively, maybe make a section for "In-Game Minigames" and move all the UFO and the Kirby Tank and the other not-yet-ripped minigames like the surfing game and such there? Just an idea. - This Cryball and this Bad Portal should be moved to the Beta/Unused section. - "Upsy" under Miscellaneous should be moved to the Beta/Unused section. - Jetters: Your "Moggy" sheet is missing the bubble that makes up its body. The same bubble is used in the "fruits_up00" file. - Jetters: "Spideroo" has a green and red palette that you didn't include in your sheet. I've made my own version of this sheet already but I don't want to take your credit away from you so I won't post it unless you really don't feel like going through the trouble of getting them. With that out of the way, here's an update: Enemies: Brawl Ball: Field Frenzy: Misc: Unused (I think): |
