RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - LeleleleMAXIMUM - 05-04-2011 experiments with HAIR i don't even know what this is or why i am posting it. be warned your eyes may very well be blehurrged: RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - des - 05-04-2011 http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2010/03/draw-hair/ maybe this can help you? :v RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Chutzpar - 05-04-2011 What des linked touches on what I wanted to point out! I have some issues with John K but this thing on hair is pretty helpful: http://johnkstuff.blogspot.com/2010/06/cartoonist-warm-up-exercises-girls-hair.html The main idea is to think of the hair in tufts or sections rather than dealing with individual hairs. The rendering of the hair is pretty much just texturing, and it's always gonna look off if you don't have some idea of its form, first. If you need reference images, try picking up some hair magazines. Yeah, they exist. If you can't find any or don't want to be seen buying them I can probably scan a few pages for you, though :v RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Devicho - 05-05-2011 Had free time in class so I got on Illustrator and played around. The colors looked much nicer on the school's laptops. :c I should try to fix them later. EDIT: Did about three seconds of color adjusting on iaza. RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Gaia - 05-05-2011 Since I hardly ever post anymore, why the fuck not? I suck at two things anyway: Poportion and balance. And this is me trying to draw Kos-Mos' armor. RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Garamonde - 05-05-2011 Emerl and Mega Man! RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Ninspriterx - 05-07-2011 doodle doodle. The left I winged the outline, but the right I planned it out first and did pre-lines and jazz. I am learning slowly. RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Cobalt Blue - 05-07-2011 that girl killed rokkan :c RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Sol - 05-07-2011 That lion looks much too happy for a lion that got killed and turned into a hat. It's adorable nonetheless. RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Garamonde - 05-07-2011 Y'know that style reminds me of something... the triangle noses especially (it makes me think of Animal Crossing too but I'm not talking about that). Cute. RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Lexou Duck - 05-08-2011 Another bad drawing that is actually one of my good drawings RE: Doodles and Finished Pieces. - Gwen - 05-08-2011 I was gonna ask, how do you guys approach drawing faces? That seems to be my biggest stump at the moment, I'm never satisfied with the faces I draw, they just feel devoid of any life or style. Just thought I'd ask. Well, personally, i have a few presets of noses, eyes and mouthes in my head and i assemble them randomly to make a face. That plus hair and shape, with facial features. It's probably not a good method, though, ask epistaxis. |
