If you're having trouble with delays, just do what I do! Preview the animation. If there is something you don't like about, go to the problem area and correct it. In your case, what I recommend you do is try out different delay times and see which one should make your animation look smooth. Not at all! In fact, I believe that you are a pretty good animator. All I was doing was giving you a suggestion just in case you didn't know, forgot, or feeling stumped.
