Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Vaati - 01-09-2010 Heres Sailor Mercury the Soldier of Icy Water, civilian name is Amy Anderson in the English DIC Dub and Ami Mizuno in the Japanese Toei Dub. RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Vaati - 01-09-2010 The English version of Joe and Mac for the SNES don't have these Cave Babe Sprites. The probable reason maybe that the English Adapters thought that the Neanderthal Nerds carrying the Cave Babes by their hair was inappropriate to the eyes of children so they decided to edit that out of the Intro scene. The only thing I do not get is why didn't the English Adapters do this for Joe and Mac Caveman Ninja Arcade version because the SNES version is a remake of the Arcade version. These Sprites are only in the Japanese Joe and Mac SNES Game so here they are. RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Yawackhary - 01-09-2010 I know a certain admin elsewhere that would love that Ami Mizuno rip (not sure if it complete but oh well, looks good enough to me). Anyway, good rips. As for Joe and Mac, it might be due to Nintendo having censorship policies at that time but I'm definately not sure. RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Davy Jones - 01-10-2010 There was enough uncensored violence in cartoons (Flintstones, Tom&Jerry) and they edited such scenes from a snes game? xD RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Vaati - 01-10-2010 (01-10-2010, 09:07 PM)Davias Wrote: There was enough uncensored violence in cartoons (Flintstones, Tom&Jerry) and they edited such scenes from a snes game? xDI know, it's freaking wierd to edit a scene were all the Neanderthal nerds are dragging the Cave Babes by their hair, from what I've seen and expierienced kids pull hair all the time. RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Ultimecia - 01-11-2010 It's Nintendo of America censorship. The very same that put clothes in classic Greek status at the NES Castlevania, remove crosses from hospitals and such. Joe and Mac for the NES didn't get censored and it pretty much had a graphic scene in it, the Legendary Giant Tyrant Triffid aka the plant boss actually spits out the players skeleton when the player gets too close to him and yes Nintendo produced that version of the Game and I still wonder why Nintendo didn't censore it. RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Ultimecia - 01-12-2010 I really don't have the full list (and I'm not sure if I want to see it). Most of stuff really didn't made sense. For example, the crosses at the hospitals were considered religious symbols (what?!). A summon and a boss in FFVI got clothes (the summon got shorts, the boss got stuff in front of her body), in FFIV they changed the blade of a guillotine into a steel ball (yeah, right, having your head squashed is way less graphic than it being cut off) and at Chrono Trigger you really don't drink soup, the party get drunk, WAY too drunk. I got this text about the NES port of Maniac Mansion, just read it and you'll see :p RE: Vaati's SNES Sprite Rips - Vaati - 01-12-2010 (01-12-2010, 11:42 AM)Ultimecia Wrote: I really don't have the full list (and I'm not sure if I want to see it). But in The Legend of Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link their was an item called the Cross and it kept it's Japanese name, the cross, in the English version too. |
