Soldam - DarkWolf - 05-18-2010

This is a somewhat obscure Japanese dropping puzzle game with rules similar to Othello. I have more, but need to convert them into sheets.

Looking good!

RE: Soldam - Davy Jones - 05-19-2010

The style of the Minotaur looks a little bit like Rodland (Amiga 500).

nice =)

RE: Soldam - DarkWolf - 05-19-2010

Cool, I wasn't aware of Rodland. After looking at the Hall of Light page for Rodland, I can see the games are definitely related. Might have to try out some Amiga emulation later.

ah, I see:
Wikipedia Wrote:Rod Land was followed by a 1992 puzzle spin-off titled Soldam.

And now it's obvious:

I've been naming these based on the animal the creatures most look like. Not sure what to call these though:

RE: Soldam - Neslug - 05-28-2010

The second one looks like an anemone.

RE: Soldam - DarkWolf - 06-01-2010

Last of the characters from the Rodland mode of the game. I just called the last one Bug. If someone comes up with a correction I'll fix it later.

I found a FAQ with enemy descriptions:

I'm not sure if your worm is the "Polymorph" (fat worm but no tongue).

RE: Soldam - DarkWolf - 06-01-2010

I'll e-mail the author when I get a chance and see if he actually took those from a manual. Corncob, yeah that makes sense looking at the frames, but it doesn't seem to fit the other animal-based enemies. But then again, this is a Japanese game. Smile
