GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-23-2010 Hey guys I found a ripper the other day called GameAssassin that supposedly can rip from OpenGL and Directx games/viewers and supposedly it rips everything including bones and animations. Although I can't seem to figure it out. Has anyone ever tried using this and figured it out? And just because it might help more people help me figure it out could I post a mediafire link to download GameAssassin? Thanks for the help guys. Here's the download link for the ripper: http://www.mediafire.com/file/0a4104rb1ukczas/GameAssassin.zip I'd recommend grabbing my translated version instead here: http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=14923 RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Shadowth117 - 08-23-2010 You can post a link if you want, but I really have no idea how to use the thing unfortunately. Its not like I haven't looked into it either considering the possibility that it might rip the bones and animations. I mean it SOUNDS amazing, but... I really have no clue how to do anything with it. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-24-2010 Alright well that's too bad. Though maybe you could try redownloading it from my link and see if you can get it it to work. It might be a more recent version. Maybe someone else could help too. Link added to first post. Its more that even with the English language set it doesn't give you any idea what to do because of the quality of the translation. I even fooled around with it a few days once trying everything I could to get it to work. It never did. If someone figures it out it sure won't be me. Unless the translation has improved since then, I'd venture to guess I'd get no closer to figuring out how to work it then last time. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-26-2010 I found a FAQ about it. I don't have time to try anything right now but perhaps this may help. Quote:Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Shadowth117 - 08-26-2010 Well although that translation was godawful I did manage to get SOMETHING surprisingly enough. Unfortunately my version didn't support bone ripping since it was a version that needed registration. I'm about to try out a different version of it to see if I can get anything. If I can get this to work I'll have to write my own guide on how to use it though since just one look at that FAQ you posted shows you the accuracy of that translation software. There's also a bunch of games I'll have to try ripping again if I can get bones with this. Edit: Well shit. Apparently you need a registered version to be able to rip anything more than the usual stuff. The only plugin I saw to import stuff was for Max which really isn't helpful to most people. It also splits the rip up into separate files for each separate object in the scene which makes importing admittedly bothersome. If I had a registered version and animation/bone ripping worked it would be worth using, but with only the shareware version available you may as well just use one of the other rippers. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-26-2010 Ah but it says it can rip OpenGL. I'm working on translating the help file made for it that you download separately. It won't be perfect but it should be useful. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Novax - 08-26-2010 Would this make ripping from PS2 games easier or more difficult by chance? I know I have to use 3D Ripper DX and have 2 meshes (front view and side view) to make up for the missing Z Axis. That is true. And yes that would be EXTREMELY helpful to see a good translation of that. It'd be nice to have a usable reference for this program. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-26-2010 Also my version number I posted is 1.2. Perhaps you should compare there may be more features in mine. You've had more success than me so far though. But yeah I've got it about 25% translated so far. =) I'm just wondering because mine says this: ![]() RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Shadowth117 - 08-26-2010 Basically what I did was select the program I wanted through the load option and used the "compages" hotkey and capture model hotkey at the same time ingame. It was weird though because it didn't seem to work consistently. I'd also done the same exact thing on a few other occasions and it didn't work at all. It might have helped that I changed the "compages" key to ctrl rather than alt, but I'm not really sure why it worked that time other than that. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-26-2010 Okay so did you press the keys while in the program, did you open up the capture button even though it doesn't seem like it does anything? (Window with text entry fields we can't edit.) I have my compages key set as Left Shift and capture model key at F7. I press both while on the program and I get nothing but empty folders. Any suggestions? And yes I do have it set to openGL (I'm pretty sure that's what Console Tool is and that's what I'm ripping from). But yes I was in Dolphin's window when I tested it. If it helps I had the keys set to 1 for capture and left ctrl for compages. The plugin was a Directx 9 one, but it shouldn't have mattered. In addition, I had "Shield Input Hook" checked in the hotkey options. As to the capture button, it never seems to work after you've used the load option on a program. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Zerox - 08-26-2010 Well I'll continue with my translation and we'll see if we can figure it out more after that. RE: GameAssassin (How Can I Use This Ripping Tool?) - Novax - 08-27-2010 Nice to here on the work Zerox. Maybe this will be the breakthrough to make ripping easier. We can only hope. Also, question on your Aqua model (I believe that's her name). Are you willing to share that model? |
