[GAME][IN-DEVELOPMENT] Monster Project: Elysia - Zapchu25 - 02-23-2011 I've been working on developing this monster game for about seven years. I have finally got out (What i believe) to be the kinks. Monster Project: Elysia
-Story- Welcome to Elysia, a temperate peninsula famous for its beautiful scenery. Its natural formations are great for tourists, but that is not the main reason people come to visit. Elysia is the main hub for competitive monster battling! You are an aspiring trainer, and have entered Elysia with a small amount of cash in your pocket and the burning desire to become the top competetor. -Gameplay- Monster Project is based solely around those who love to train, raise, and battle monsters. Unlike the majority of monster raising games out there already, Monster Project is centered around the training monster aspect rather than the RPG aspect. Monsters will be bought at shops, or by special circumstances and will be raised in the player's farm. Other items will be able to be bought at shops, like food, training equipment, and farm upgrades. When a monster is ready, the player can take these monsters accross Elaysia, to have them compete against one another. After much competition, enter the Arena. Destroy the competition to increase in rank to become Elaysia's best fighter! Tired of fighting NPCs? Take the battle online! Compete with friends to see who can become the Master Fighter of the month! Trade and sell your monsters to other players, or participate in joint farming with one of your friends! And when you didn't think it could get any better, new monsters and other game aspects will be automatically updated to the game after downloading! -Extra-Mechanics- To set it apart from other monster games, Monster Project has many different aspects. - Monsters do not evolve, but are seperated as species and subspecies. Monsters of the same family can breed to create hybrids and other subspecies! - An effective real time battle system sets this game apart from others. There's nothing quite like it! -Different Competitors and items are available during different days of the week and different times of the day. With this variety, you'll never grow bored. -Each monster has their own color. Two monsters of the same species will never have the exact same color! -Many items at the shop can be purchased for your monsters to interact with on the farm. (ie punching bags, toys, and other work-out machinery) -What I Need Help With- I cannot reveal to much, but at the moment, what I need are some pretty legit spriters. I want this game to be manly, and detailed. Mainly, I need help creating landscapes, backgrounds, and GUI design. The monsters are already designed, so are the NPCs. Help is greatly appreciated! RE: [GAME][IN-DEVELOPMENT] Monster Project: Elysia - Sengir - 03-01-2011 Why didn't I post in this topic earlier? This sounds great, I love games like this! (Also this is exactly how a gamedev topic should be organized) RE: [GAME][IN-DEVELOPMENT] Monster Project: Elysia - Zapchu25 - 03-01-2011 (03-01-2011, 12:52 PM)Sengir Wrote: Why didn't I post in this topic earlier? This sounds great, I love games like this! Thanks, man! I'll try to release some beta screenshots or videos when the game gets a little more coherent. But you know, Rome wasn't built in a day! |
