Drow head (WIP) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 03-31-2011 For an RPG esque style. C+C I need to: Find a better way of doing eyes add more detail make details pop more shade hair (haven't the clue) I am trying to work with as much contrast as possible for it to not stand out with other heads too much. RE: Drow head (WIP) - Sengir - 03-31-2011 Moved from General Discussion Also it's pretty good thus far, but is that red on the 2nd face blood or what? I find making heads to be much easier if they're larger, especially with more readable eyes RE: Drow head (WIP) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 03-31-2011 It's actually supposed to be a horribly bad wound that's since healed over, possibly a burn. It comes with storyline reasons, since in the canon of the thing I'm making this for, Drow are immune to poison. So instead of poisoning him and killing him, one of his superiors humiliated him by burning him horribly, leaving him marked as a drow willing to stay in his position in life. Also! some other details you probably don't care about: Drow in this setting are part of a matriarchal society, and lots of things have to do with appearance and beauty. Even haircuts are separated by sex, with shorter hair traditionally reserved for females in power. This character in question has shorter hair than any male drow is allowed to have, and also didn't bother having his injury healed ever. Also yeah, eye readability is the part i'm having trouble with. RE: Drow head (WIP) - Proton - 03-31-2011 In terms of contrast, your skin palette doesn't show off enough contrast. It's a small gradient for a palette. Take your first colour to a brighter level so you can work from a brighter-to-darker scale. It'll make the nose and facial structure more noticeable. RE: Drow head (WIP) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 04-03-2011 I need to make a version that's shaded from more of a 'frontal' light source, apparently! RE: Drow head (WIP) - Chris2Balls [:B] - 04-03-2011 i got rid of the fringe, redid the facial structure, messed with the colours and contrast and redid fringe. RE: Drow head (WIP) - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 04-03-2011 The hair looks great chris...the...face is....creepy. But it's given me a couple of ideas on how to shade it. |
