Tetra Sprites - Tinybit92 - 10-08-2011 Hi there. So I recently got back into spriting a bit after years away and couldn't help but notice that one of the problems I had years ago still exists. No one's made a Tetra sprite sheet. So I sat down and spent the last several days making this. What do you think? Good enough to submit? RE: Tetra Sprites - Davy Jones - 10-12-2011 Quote:What do you think? Good enough to submit?I think so. RE: Tetra Sprites - Vipershark - 10-12-2011 Aside from the unnecessarily gigantic tag, I see no problem with this. Make the tag smaller (and more readable, the black on two-tone purple is hard to read) and it should be fine. RE: Tetra Sprites - Gors - 10-12-2011 it is only an edit. it would be better, at least, if you smothed the hair shading a bit and made it bobble in the animations. Also change the face into something not to manly as link RE: Tetra Sprites - StarSock64 - 10-12-2011 The lighter outline on the hair is really distracting, too. Link has lighter outlines, but they work with the lighting, not "oh it's his hair and his hat I guess it's time for a different outline color now." RE: Tetra Sprites - Koopaul - 10-13-2011 This person hasn't responded back yet. Too bad because I think this is actually an example of a good edit. RE: Tetra Sprites - Tinybit92 - 10-14-2011 Thanks for the feedback, all of you. I was also thinking the tag didn't quite work so I'll definitely change that. I'm not exactly sure how I'd make the face less "manly" so that might be a tricky thing to go about changing. I can certainly give it a shot though. The hair outline is another thing I was kind of thinking I should change up a bit so I'll see about that. I'll make these edits and post the changes as soon as I can. I definitely want to make it the best I can before I submit it. RE: Tetra Sprites - Ton - 10-15-2011 You're on your way. Just a little more editing. RE: Tetra Sprites - Terminal Devastation - 10-15-2011 There's two ways I know of to make a face this small less manly. One is to tweak the lower corner pixels to adjust the roundness or sharpness of the face. In this case, I wouldn't recommend this unless the other method fails. The other method is to change the the style of the eyes. In this case maybe to a softer expression. In other words, no more angry eyebrows. I can do that, thanks. RE: Tetra Sprites - Tinybit92 - 10-16-2011 Okay, so here's the edited version. I changed the tag, fixed some of the shading on the hair, changed the eyes so it will hopefully look more feminine, and fixed the hair outline so it looks better. Better overall? RE: Tetra Sprites - BynineB - 10-16-2011 Looks quite a bit like Tetra to me. Good job doing an edit that involves effort. RE: Tetra Sprites - Garamonde - 10-16-2011 It might just be me, but those black pixels at the tops of her eyes give me the impression that she's half asleep or bored. I don't really see any errors elsewhere though and I genuinely look forward to seeing this finished. Also, you wrote "Tinybti" instead of "Tinybit" in your credit tag. RE: Tetra Sprites - Tinybit92 - 11-30-2011 Blah, I got distracted by college! Um, so yeah, I made some edits that make the animation smoother and fixed that typo. Mighty Jetters, I tried changing that pixel you were talking about but it honestly made her look more sleepy/bored. ^.^; So I left it. I'm going to go post it over in the submissions thread now. Thanks to everyone who supplied feedback. |
