TF2 custom sprites - Yo-Yo Boy - 11-21-2011 I need your opinions. RE: TF2 custom sprites - Cobalt Blue - 11-22-2011 i can't particulary say doing these in such a simplistic style is something new(hell even i did it in a similar fashion not long ago). but if you really want a sugestion, aim for a more elaborated animation than a 2 frame cycle -remember that tf2's strongest point is each character's personality. RE: TF2 custom sprites - Chutzpar - 11-22-2011 It might be kind of cool if you play around more with giving them distinct shapes-- that's another important thing with the characters in TF2 actually, they all have strong silhouettes. Just as an example, you could try to make the scout skinnier, and the engie + soldier a bit beefier. I kind of like the 2-frame animation actually, it's cute! Reminds me of Cave Story c: RE: TF2 custom sprites - Yo-Yo Boy - 11-22-2011 Lifeless zombies! Tried making them bigger so that I have more space for details. Edit: Now with shading! RE: TF2 custom sprites - Cobalt Blue - 11-22-2011 it seems you're moving into something completely diferent. though the shading isnt matching the desing on the sprites. RE: TF2 custom sprites - Yo-Yo Boy - 11-23-2011 Yes i'm moving onto something completely different. As you said, this have been done countless times so why do it again. Also, why doesn't the shading match the design of the sprites? RE: TF2 custom sprites - Cobalt Blue - 11-24-2011 elaborated shading on a minimalistic desing. |
