Alice: Madness Returns Models - o0DemonBoy0o - 01-10-2012 It's me again. This time I have Models from Alice: Madness returns Credit to SirCroft and Bioware for the Hair model on Alice And Credit to o0Crofty0o for the hair model I edited for Hattress. The reason I believe this is to do with Alice's hair. See, Alice's model uses particle effects for the hair. Because of the difficult nature of the hair, there is currently no known way to convert it from the game onto a model. o0Crofty0o and Sir Croft worked around this by heavily modifying the hair model from The Lady of the Forest of "Dragon Age: Origins" to look like that of Alice's. However, there was an alpha issue with the hair model that was left unfixed. You can view the model here. My point is that the model you have uploaded seems to have the same hair model as that of o0Crofty0o's upload. Could you please explain how you created/ripped that hair (or what resources you used to make the hair, if possible?) Also, could you please provide a description or upload a printscreen of the workspace which you used to rip these models from the game (folder directories, programs, etc.?) Thank you. The reason I believe this is to do with Alice's hair. I knew I forgot to do something. o0Crofty0o and Sir Croft of course takes all credit for the hair model but eveything else I ripped using my copy of the game and Unreal Model Viewer. I saw quite a few people use the hair model hair model to show off their mods and whatnot and crofty seemed fine with it. I thought it would be alright if I gave credit to her and Sir croft and sent her a message on her DA page. Now that I think about it, it would probably be better to get the confirmation first. I will take down the model of Alice with the modified hair until I get a message back from her. Sorry that I did this. I was searching in the game files for about 3-4 hours just to find these models and then it took me about another hour and a half to fix them up and by then I was eager to submit them and forgot about crofty's hair model. Next time I will try to be more couscous of what I do. Edit: Crofty said it was perfectly fine as long as I gave credit to Sir Croft and Bioware, which I now just did in the top of the first post. Again I am sorry for the trouble. I did suspect you had at least ripped most of these models, because of the Cheshire Cat model you uploaded. Thanks for the explanation. Also, couscous is a type of North African semolina made from crushed durum wheat. What you want is to be more cautious. Can't wait to see more of your work, DemonBoy. Well that's what happens when you stay up all night ripping models. I'm going to get some rest and then see if I can find more of these models. RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - Woppet* - 01-10-2012 I love you for this. RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - o0DemonBoy0o - 01-10-2012 Alright I was curious so I decided to look through some of the models again. Turns out that I can also extract all of the characters animation files. All I need to do is find a good way to export the characters with their bones intact. His ActorX importer script for 3D Studio Max supports importing those extractions too. Maybe that would work? RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - o0DemonBoy0o - 01-10-2012 That's what I use to import the models. I need A way to export them with the bones and rigging intact. DAE never seems to work for me and SMD combines all the objects into one mesh when I export it. It kind of messes up the model if it has more than one texture. I could just try to stick with SMD for now but then I would have to make it so it uses one texture file instead of multiple. You still need to fix up the model slightly with a program like Wordpad or Notepad++, but it works better for me than the Autodesk .DAE export plugin. Now I just need to know what character I should upload the animations for first and what format i should save the animations as. RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - o0DemonBoy0o - 01-11-2012 Alright, I updated Cheshire Cat and Alice (Unused) with rigged models and animation packs. New Submissions are Pickups and Vorpal Blade (Unused). They are all in the first post. RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - Peardian - 01-11-2012 These are some creepy-looking models! I'm not really sure what to do about the animation files, though. I have little idea what .XAF files are for, but they're positively huge. Alice's animation pack is 10MB over the max file size I can upload, and balloons to 700+MB when unzipped. I figure they are animation files, but what uses them? The animation packs are just something extra and you do not need to upload them. .XAF is used by 3ds max. They were the only format that I was able to save the animations as. If you know of a better format to save these as I would very much like to hear it. RE: Alice: Madness Returns Models - Roxas358 - 01-11-2012 For future reference, what is the max allowed file size? |
