[IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES - Demake / Fan Game - Buck Bumble NES - 03-26-2012 I want to create a 2D fan game of my favorite N64 game Buck Bumble on the NES. [EDIT:] Demo 3 with a larger level and being able to shoot will be out soon, enemies will be in Demo 4 when Gaia has finished drawing them. [EDIT: ] Random screenshot of me in the bonus room shooting two bullets (maximum of 3 bullets at a time): http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9491/buckbumblenesdemo3scree.png Isn't my tile based writing great? Thanks. RE: Buck Bumble NES - recme - 03-26-2012 It's a pretty fun game. But why doesn't Buck Bumble look like himself? He looks like a man in a bumble bee outfit. RE: Buck Bumble NES - Gaia - 03-26-2012 Well, considering he's a video game character from the fifth generation of gaming (N64/PS1), his design might've been a problem to recreate on the NES, remember what Capcom did, it was pretty difficult to pull off to get Mega Man to look right on the first try. That being said, engine is looking pretty nice so far. I might consider helping out just to flex my 8-bit spriting skills. I've been working on my TFS sheet for awhile now and it would be a nice refresher to do. RE: Buck Bumble NES - Belial - 03-26-2012 It looks like a guy in a bee suit cause its from Little Nemo: Dream Master. I do like how it controls so far though. I'll keep my eye on this. RE: Buck Bumble NES - Buck Bumble NES - 03-27-2012 Thanks for your interest everyone! Yes the sprite I used in this demo is from that exact sprite sheet which you linked to Belial; and the background I drew myself in about 5 minutes. As you can see the graphics do not fit, I just used them as a placeholder to see how the engine runs, none of the graphics are final. I am posting here to ask if anyone would like to make graphics for this game; I can't offer any money unfortunately since I am making this purely for fun. Sorry if I was unclear in my original post. If you want to be a part of this project you must be serious about it and be aware that you will be making 95% of all of the graphics in the game. Also, I would like to see some of your previous work first so I can get an idea of your style and make sure that you are not completely rubbish Thanks again. RE: Buck Bumble NES - Gaia - 03-27-2012 This is a sample of my work, and it will generally be in this style, if you wish. I even have a 16 bit version of this on the top of the sheet, too. Though if you are doing this "for fun", then why are you asking for help? A game requires dedication you know. RE: Buck Bumble NES - Buck Bumble NES - 03-27-2012 Nice sprites, Gaia! Much better than I could ever draw. I am doing the programming and overal project for fun; but not the graphics, I am awful at them. Believe me, I am very dedicated to this, just not making the graphics. If you're sure that you would like to be involved in this, then please work on the main sprite first, here's a picture of the N64 boxart: http://cache.ohinternet.com/images/d/d1/Buck_bumble_box_pal.jpg Draw it with these colours in this picture (blue, black, yellow, and transparrent). Once you're finished email it to me, (I'll PM you my email). Take as much time as you need, just make it as well as you can. Thanks! RE: Buck Bumble NES - Gaia - 03-27-2012 While this may be a fangame, you might want to put a tag first. [FANGAME][DEMAKE][IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES Demake as a topic title should aughta do it. I'll use some mockups for the enemies too. I'll bee sure to add a screenshot of my progress with the sheets. Note that there might be design alterations (such as the reduction of LEGS and maybe the colors, since I don't quite get what you mean by "transparent" but that's about it). Give me a holla if you'd want to try something wee more origional after this. Doubt it, I bet the guy's Buck Bumble© has expired long after the origional game was released. RE: [IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES - Demake / Fan Game - Buck Bumble NES - 03-29-2012 The sprite has been implemented into the engine and the glitches have all been fixed, check the first post for the new demo! RE: [IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES - Demake / Fan Game - Vipershark - 03-31-2012 Can you post a few screenshots, please? RE: [IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES - Demake / Fan Game - Buck Bumble NES - 04-02-2012 Screenshot has been added to the first post. RE: [IN DEVELOPMENT] Buck Bumble NES - Demake / Fan Game - Buck Bumble NES - 04-05-2012 Since I'm not that bad at editing graphics, I decided to do the title screen, Buck Bumble flies across the screen leaving behind the text "PRESS START". The background could only have 4 colours so I had to scrap blue and just make everything different shades of orange but it still looks alright. What do you guys think? http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7571/titlescreenc.png |
