Iso-Dyno - Zapchu25 - 06-06-2012 I'm a little rusty at the whole spriting thing. I'm trying my hand on an isometric RPG style sprite and was wondering if I could get some C+C. Hit me up! RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Cobalt Blue - 06-06-2012 not isometric to begin with. RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Cobalt Blue - 06-06-2012 sure. In an isometric perspective, your character and everything around it and about it is build following the very basic "layout" from wich isometric perspective is made of. there is no "mine is a dinamic pose" bullshit excuse though. you want a dinamic pose, then dont call it isometric. RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Thumbtacks - 06-06-2012 Looks like it to me? Edit: Ok Meta, you beat me. But couldn't he then just more the (our)left leg up a few pixels to make it line up? RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Jamuk - 06-07-2012 That shading looks much better now. It reminds me of Professor Layton. I don't see a problem with having a dynamic pose in an isometric style (especially if you're planning to do something like make an isometric game from it), but this is just clearly not a dynamic pose, judging from the rest of the body. The new version looks really nice, though. I haven't checked if the angle is isometric or not, but if it's not, it shouldn't be too hard to fix. RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Previous - 06-07-2012 When making isometric sprites, always work with a helping grid like Meta and Thumbtacks added in. Is makes it much easier to judge whether it fits. It does look better not, though. However, his far leg seems kinda short, maybe due to the pixels between the legs. RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Zapchu25 - 06-07-2012 Alright, I fixed up around the crotchel region and added a mirrored sprite. How's the bag? P.s. This back sprite is raping me! RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Cobalt Blue - 06-08-2012 just a heads up: when i said "your character is built following the very basic layout" it means your character structure as a whole follows that perspective, not only his feet. all about its desing and anatomy should follow the isometric grid, wich means -in this case- that his shoulders, arms, and clothign have to be redesigned and built in such way(they are not, right now) in order to stay in perspective. isometric perspectives are that rigid. RE: iAyudame! {If thou wantest ;)} - Baegal - 06-08-2012 If anything, we should be seeing less of the back arm. RE: Iso-Dyno - Zapchu25 - 06-14-2012 Did some shading on the back sprite just to see where I was going with it and got a little carried away :p. Not sure how I feel yet..... |
