Digimon World DS - RadSpyro - 07-05-2012 Here we go, starting a new project. Trying to rip all of the Digimon from these games: Digimon World DS Digimon World Dusk Digimon World Dawn At the moment, I'm limited to just Digimon World DS. For some reason, the emulator I use crashes whenever I try to get past the first 'crisis' in Dusk/Dawn. If anyone has a save state I could borrow, that would be great! Speaking of which, if anyone needs one for DWDS I have one which is at the end of the game with 999% on all monsters (haxxors, of course). If you wish to help, please let me know what monster(s) you plan on ripping, so we don't overlap! Digimon List: Spreadsheet OTHER RESOURCES Supplied by the wonderful redblueyellow and Dazz. Digimon Battle Portraits (sorted) Icons Overworld sprites RE: Digimon World DS - Garamonde - 07-05-2012 You should compile a list of all the Digimon that are in each game so that people know what there is to claim, and then you can just add someone's name next to that Digimon/mark it as complete when necessary. RE: Digimon World DS - RadSpyro - 07-05-2012 Good idea. List up, just about to edit what's already on the site, etc. RE: Digimon World DS - Garamonde - 07-05-2012 I'd also spoiler tag it. RE: Digimon World DS - redblueyellow - 07-05-2012 Oh crap, haha. I guess I'll have to claim some Digimon now. I'm in the process of speed ripping all of the Digimon, and you missed a sprite or two on each of the sheets, but I'll post the sheets in a bit. Should be finished in about 20 minutes. (Along with my list of claimed Digimon ) RE: Digimon World DS - RadSpyro - 07-05-2012 Woops, just added the missing sprites :p RE: Digimon World DS - redblueyellow - 07-05-2012 Okay, here are the tools needed for the project. http://i.minus.com/iNKYDdyN5ApmZ.PNG icons http://i.minus.com/itNlsNLWwlZxw.PNG overworld (each sprite has a height of increments of 8 (16, 32, 48, etc.) http://i.minus.com/1341597796/_sy-P_WmOJx2wFKBXew3zw/dbuvVjQuVVk27a/char.rar battle sprites The sprites I was referring to was the extra "celebration" sprite. I'll have to update the Digimon I did a while ago that are on the site, but if I may make a list of Digimon to claim: Also, here's a list of Digimon in the game (with pictures): http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Digimon_in_Digimon_World_DS There are probably some Digimon missing from the images above, but the bulk of them should be there. The boxed icons were images without palettes, so they are incorrect. EDIT: For the battle sprites, you will need glycerin map viewer Also, I'm currently finishing up the eggs, main characters, and npc characters. RE: Digimon World DS - RadSpyro - 07-06-2012 Awesome work! I'll update the list soon. We'll have these guys ripped in no time Also, main character: Feel free to let me know if I missed any sprites. (or if you have an old PC that isn't able to run .NET 3.0) RE: Digimon World DS - Garamonde - 07-06-2012 Hey Rad, I noticed on CoolROM there was a Digimon World Championship. What is that one? Any different Digimon in it? EDIT: Barubary, as far as I can tell, the only files that work with OoV are the backgrounds. Every other file are either .BINs or some other weird type. Every other file are either .BINs or some other weird type. The same applies to Glycerin Map Viewer ;] You may want to try decompressing some files as well; I think I have two sample files of the game (a .c and a .p file), which are just compressed NCGR and NCLR files (which OoV and GMV can open, assuming there are corresponding compressed NCER/NANR or NSCR files as well). RE: Digimon World DS - Garamonde - 07-06-2012 Oh I see, that's good then. I wonder what we could use to decompress them. RE: Digimon World DS - redblueyellow - 07-06-2012 The files work great with OoV, but with glycerin map viewer the sprites are in a background square which helps me organize them into sprite sheets. Just a minor preference, OoV is amazing also. Also, you missed a few sprites for the Hero sheet RadSpyro, so here's a revised sheet (with the female hero as well): RE: Digimon World DS - Garamonde - 07-06-2012 Wait, they work even though they're compressed and just say "File" as their format? ... That teaches me to actually TRY the files before assuming they won't work just because they don't have a familiar extension. Also RBY you can set it in OoV to display boxes: Options > Draw BG Color. If the first few bytes are RLCN, RGCN, RECN, etc, OoV can probably just open it. If that string is present but a few bytes into the file, it's likely to be compressed. |
