Metal Max Returns Enemies - Virtuaboy123 - 08-07-2012 I've started ripping the metal max enemy sprites for the SNES Just the stationary sprite not the movements or attacks Is this exceptable? RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - puggsoy - 08-07-2012 Nope, when ripping sprites you need to rip all of their frames. If you think it's too much for one sheet you can give enemies separate sheets but you need all of their animation frames. Just the stationary frames are, in my opinion, practically useless. But whether or not they are useless, it still won't be accepted. RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - Davy Jones - 08-07-2012 http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/metalmaxreturns/sheet/43420 You don't really need the battle bg and the overworld entities since a ripper can put these on separate sheets. But movements and enemy sfx should be on the sheet. RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - Virtuaboy123 - 08-08-2012 Ok understood I'm using ZNES to rip are there any other methods I could go about doing this? Emulator or tile-viewer wise? RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - Davy Jones - 08-08-2012 vSNES: http://www.spriters-resource.com/community/showthread.php?tid=20776&pid=459934#pid459934 Advantages: - Disables ripple effects - Disables screentone - Disables sprites which overlay other sprites (also vice-versa) - Disables Mode 7 - zsnes and snes9x cut off your maps, this tool shows you everything (but only a part of the current map depending on where you made the quicksave) Disadvantages: - MAYBE palette issues which depend on the game, just check it with an additional zsnes screenshot - vSNES only shows the sprites at the moment where you made the quicksave - Not needed for all SNES sprites, zsnes with disabled layers is mostly enough There is also YY-CHR (a tile viewer), but I've only ripped Energy Breaker with it a long time ago. Just try it out, if you need a tutorial I can make one. RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - puggsoy - 08-08-2012 By the way, if you're trying to capture fast animations, AnimGet may help. I've used it for a few games and haven't had any problems yet, it gets all the frames I need. RE: Metal Max Returns Enemies - jimmyjack - 12-18-2012 Hey I'm new to the SR... so if someone could help out that'd be awesome! I'm making a game at the moment called Mage Wars. It's a 2 and soon to be 4 player rpg game. I am okay at spriting, but I don't have a clue on where to start with fire. I'm making a menu screen right now and want some animated fire wither on the bottom or in some goblets of some kind in the menu screen. If someone wants to help out, I will gladly put your name in the credits, and make you a character! Will send a copy of the game so far if anyone wants to try it out. Was made using Game Maker.
