How do I use ripped fonts? - kuroku - 04-08-2013

Hi, sorry for this seriously noobish question. Basically, I wanna use the devil survivor font, but I'm really unfamiliar with using it. How do I use it? Do I have to literally copy and paste it, or is there something I'm supposed to do?

Usually, if you're coding in a game, you use images for the font (although that technically does depend how you develop it). Therefore, the fonts in image form isn't really a problem if you're using in a game.

If you simply want to put them on an image though, you'll probably have to copy/paste. If you want to write a lot of text (as opposed to just a title or sentence), you can try and put them into a proper font file, but you'd have to either do it manually or use a conversion program (neither of which I've personally done). Either way, any coloured fonts would probably lose their colour, as computer fonts don't have a set colour.

Oh, I see... Well the font is white anyway, so color's not an issue. I could recolor it black if it being white is a problem, haha. Basically I want to use the font to type with. Well, that pretty much answers my question a little. I've never done this before, so I guess I'll keep looking on how to make fonts out of pictures. Thank you!

You could always try adapting it for use with Bitmap Font Writer. That's what I did with my old Bubble Bobble and Chack'n Pop spritesheets.
