I'm not working on this for any particular reason, but the fact that I can't the walk cycle looking right is bothering me immensely.

If somebody could give me some pointers, it would be much appreciated. If you find anything else wrong too, let me know.

Well, I think, one of your biggest problems is that the legs themselves don't seem to move.... they come off looking rather stiff.

How is this?

RE: RPG Walk Cycle Help - SmithyGCN - 04-18-2013

Better. But I've noticed something else. The forward foot seems to be in the same place as the one that is in the neutral position. You can fix this by moving the forward foot down one pixel from the neutral position.

I tried that before the last, but it looked like he was kicking out his feet a bit much.

Fixing up some things on Brendan. His hat was gross and the strap was wrong.
Most was done by my friend Trevor. Its a collab thing between us.

I'd suggest to move the hole sprite up by one pixel so that you can move the front foot down by one pixel to make it actually look like he's putting it in the front. Right now it looks a lot like he's just pushing his feet back, but not like he's walking forward - like some kind of dance. The front foot should move further to the center, too. When you walk, the feet tend to be centered below the body instead of next to each other, moving in a somewhat half-circular way instead of directly back and forth on a straight line.

Furthermore I think that the arms may be a pisel too short.

The first one's ear outlines flicker in the first frame.

I think the thighs look a bit too stiff during the walk animation. As Previously said (PUN!), it kinda looks like they're dancing.
