MAME ripping question (Background color) - John4300 - 04-18-2014 I'm in progress of ripping sprites from various games on Arcade boards with MAME, but there are some problems I'm facing. On some games, when you press F4 the neutral background color (which will be removed in game) might be something pleasant like green, but on most games it's black. I'm having problems with my current ripping project as the background and black the game uses are both the same color, so I'd have to use another palette as a base to make the black parts (Which is really time consuming) or I have to guess the pixels, which is not accurate. Are there way to change palettes in games, or mame versions which might have easier sprite ripping capabilities? Thank you for your help! -John4300 RE: MAME ripping question (Background color) - Deathbringer - 04-18-2014 A lot of us just take a second screenshot with either the blacked out color changed or a full palette and use something like Photoshop or Gimp to change the background. |
