XNB Decompiling from Steam Games? - Sketchasaurus - 09-02-2014 I've been searching around for tools that'd allow me to convert xnb files to .png format in order to to access sprites from a variety of games that I own on Steam. I've come across a few Terraria-related fragments, but none of them have been any help/have broken links/etc. as of now, I'm looking to extract the sprite assets from Rogue Legacy, any help would be greatly appreciated! RE: XNB Decompiling from Steam Games? - Dazz - 09-02-2014 I believe the the Terraria applications that you may have found would work with Rogue Legacy. I seem to recall trying it. However, the sprites are arranged very badly in the data, so you'd have to spend a fair while rearranging them. RE: XNB Decompiling from Steam Games? - Sketchasaurus - 09-02-2014 Aha! it worked! Thanks, Dazz! It will definitely take some rearranging to make submission-worthy sheets, but it's all here. RE: XNB Decompiling from Steam Games? - puggsoy - 09-02-2014 I had a similar thing with Bastion. Each XNB had a corresponding file with information about the frames and their animations. After converting the XNBs to PNG I could use these information files to automatically organise the sheets. If you can see any such files, I can maybe take a crack and see if they can make the organising process easier. If there are any, if you could upload them along with their converted XNBs I might be able to make something to automate the process. |
