[Indie Game] Spectrum Break - Kurai - 06-23-2016 Ahoy all! Some of you may know, some of you may not, but I've been working on a My Little Pony fangame for a while now. I think I've developed quite a cool gameplay style and want to turn it into a unique IP rather than a simple fangame. I've gotten someone who will be remaking the engine from scratch in C++ and we're hoping to get everything going in a few months. Story: While I don't want to give away too much of the story, the game will be set in a magical land inhabited by talking animals and will star a male Peacock called Prism. Prism will have all the abilities performed by Rainbow Dash in the Revenants of Chaos fangame, as well as including some more combat oriented moves. As in Revenants of Chaos, the main protagonist unleashes a powerful corrupted entity that seeks to drain all the magic from the world and only the player can stop it. Positions: Hopefully we can get things rolling around September, though for that we need the empty positions filled. I'll be sorting this Seed Stage of development out and paying for it from my own pocket. The Sprite Artist will need to work alongside the concept artist for the creation of the player character, three enemies, the 3 standard pick ups for the stage and the effects. The Tileset and Background Artist will be responsible for the graphics representing the level, also working alongside the concept artist and the Sprite Artist so that everything comes nicely together. The new engine will probably be more physics heavy, allowing for smoother level design. The GUI Artist will be responsible for a simple main menu and the ingame HUD. The main menu will be changed eventually and will be there for the sake of the demo. The ingame HUD will be relatively similar to the Project Dash version, keeping all the various elements but updating them for the new IP. Textboxes, fonts and the start of level card will also fall under the GUI artists responsibilities The second Level Designer is simply there to lighten the load somewhat and isn't necessary for the Seed Stage of development but may help in the long run. This will be a long term project and anyone wishing to fill the spaces must be willing to see it through the initial seed stage as well as Kickstarter goals being reached. We're aiming at a Steam, IOS/ Android and MAC release at first, we'll see where things go after that. Payment can be provided through PayPal, though if headway is made on the Kickstarter (once it gets started), other methods as well as Royalties can be considered. If you're interested, send me a PM with how much you're willing to charge and an example of your work and maybe we can talk more in detail over Skype? Be intrested in working on backgrounds and tile sets. If you're able to give me an idea of what to do and what I'm working on, like the characters and anything else, I'd be up trying for this. |
