Incomplete or broken Submissions - SuperFlomm - 09-27-2016 Every now and then some incomplete submissions find their way onto the site (we are not perfect either). The goal of this thread is to find and list any submissions that have flaws. People can then make and submit improvements as revisions. Please, report submissions that are missing things or that need to be replaced. Some good reasons to report a submission are:
Here are some basic rules you should read before reporting:
There are currently no reports for The Models Resource. There are currently no reports for The Textures Resource. RE: Incomplete Submissions - Ton - 09-27-2016 Between the two Jason and SOFIA sheets in the NES Blaster Master section, we don't have a complete set. Additionally, many of the sprites from TSGK are jpegs and the colors are wrong. The Enemy sheet is also terribly incomplete (and should probably be split into overworld/dungeon sheets). I'll have more later. This is just to get the topic started. RE: Incomplete Submissions - Davy Jones - 09-27-2016 The Smurfs 2 (SNES) - Smurfette http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/smurfs2/sheet/37334/ This one is a how-far-can-I-go sheet, I gave up after the first level. Rayman Raving Rabbits (GBA) - Rayman http://www.spriters-resource.com/fullview/49688/ I organized this sheet for an inexperienced ripper, what's missing and off is written on the sheet. Ys (NES) - Portraits http://www.spriters-resource.com/nes/ysnes/sheet/37026/ As far as I remember, Deathbringer pointed out that one portrait is missing, but I gave up on this game because the combat system is terrible. Suikoden 2 / Alundra (PSX) - Tilesets http://www.spriters-resource.com/playstation/suikodenii/ http://www.spriters-resource.com/playstation/alundra/ These are from my beginner's era, I collaborated together with Tantrix who was as inexperienced as me at that time. Alundra tilesets have partly wrong palettes and Suikoden 2 Tiles have their black screwed up, as I erased it by hand and couldn't differ between pure black and very dark tones. There is also an unneccessary space of one pixel between the tileset blocks. The Misc. Tilesets 1-6 are fully ok, though. Not sure when, but I definitely want to play Alundra and Suikoden at one point in my life and if it comes to this, I'll definitely rip and re-rip some stuff. Dual Orb II (SNES) - Everything http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/dualorb2 Seriously, these rips are from my oldest tries to rip stuff from the SNES. And yes, they are absolute trash (incomplete, edited, waste of space). Nearly every sheet on TSR with this light-pink background colour and Queen Zeal as an avatar is from that time. Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (SNES) - Characters, Monsters & Battle Backgrounds http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/ffquest/ At that time, I had no idea about vSNES. So the battle backgrounds are cut off (vSNES scene viewer helps), some characters are incomplete (vSNES Memory viewer may reveal them) and the monster vanshing animation is unneccessary, as it is made ingame (I didn't know that). Also some monsters are probably edited due to my problems with black backgrounds at that time, also some monsters share their colours with the regular battle background so I cut them out manually. Illusion of Gaia (SNES) - Freedan http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/illusiongaia/sheet/6501/ I would call this one Smithy's crappiest sheet, as it misses many many frames plus something was wrong with the walk cycle. Illusion of Gaia (SNES) - Jackal http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/illusiongaia/sheet/34851/ No idea about vSNES back then, so the Memory viewer might contain his last walk cycle. Illusion of Gaia (SNES) - Jack & Silvana http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/illusiongaia/sheet/65054/ Incomplete, what's missing is written on the sheet. Lufia 2 (SNES) - Phantom Tree Mountain Panorama http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/lufia2/sheet/12362/ Called "Auragebirge", very old sheet. Secret of Evermore (SNES) - Beam http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/secretevermore/sheet/10183/ Called "Dr Seltsam's Traktorstrahl". Also the animation is garbage as it goes on and on and on. It's not supposed to be captured. Secret of Evermore (SNES) - Storage Room http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/secretevermore/sheet/31225/ I remember that this map had heavy problems with the black, so I couldn't separate objects from it (they still have a black background). The rest with pink background colour is probably edited. Star Ocean (SNES) - Enemies & Bosses http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/starocean/ GrotesqueWorshipInc made really crappy rips for the enemies, as they're incomplete and have transparency problems. The other (smaller) problem are my bosses (giants only), as I could have separated the rocks from the main sprite (but y'know, I had no idea about vSNES). Milandra (SNES) - Misc. http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/milandra/sheet/9634/ Another early rip of mine. I just played it one time and threw everything I could get my hands on on a sheet and submitted it. The crumbling animation for the objects is probably edited as I had problems with the black background. Trash. Super Nazo Puyo Tsu (SNES) - Misc. http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/spuyo/sheet/13431/ This sheet of mine is a huge mess, I just ripped everything I saw and threw it on one single sheet, NPCs, Enemies, Blobs, title, playable character, etc. Also incomplete as I gave up on one of the harder enemies. Treasure Hunter G (SNES) - Misc. http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/treasureg/sheet/10169/ Another messy sheet, also incomplete. RE: Incomplete Submissions - Ton - 09-28-2016 Super Mario World (SNES) -Enemies- People pointed out that there's an alternate Koopa flipping the shell animation. There's also an unused Swooper palette and unused Dino-Rhino fireballs (same as Yoshi's, also not ripped anywhere else). Additionally, Lakitu's cloud should probably be tile ripped because there are so many variations in it and there's no way the one here is complete. Cool Spot (SNES) -Spot is missing some 100% completion frames and the background interferes with the sprites on some of the ending animations. The spider enemy is missing a lot of frames. Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3 (SNES) -Rattly is definitely missing some frames, and Clapper probably is too. Maybe even some others. Robotrek (SNES) -The Hero is missing a bunch of sprites. I think, like Yoshi's Island, he's stored in segments, so that would make sheeting/ripping slightly easier. Yoshi's Island (SNES) -Yoshi is missing his skiing sprites. Maybe others. The bosses and enemies are REALLY unfinished. Both General Sheets are really old and outdated and can be condensed if we address the enemies. Hamtaro: ham-ham heartbreak - Spat There are sprites missing where he's riding on a fish or something like that and when he's dressed as a doll. - Boss He's missing his singing sprites and probably other ham-chat sprites. - Rub-rub twins There are sprites of them missing if you turn a stone into a gem and if a stone turns out to be nothing. RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - Davy Jones - 10-02-2016 Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu (SNES) http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/dragonballzsupersaiyadensetsu/ All character sheets miss the mode 7 frame for the strong headbutt. The version on the sheet is just the resized single frame, but not the original in its unresized form. It can be accessed through vSNES. RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - Midday-Mew - 10-10-2016 http://www.spriters-resource.com/gamecube/pmttyd/sheet/30992/ This one is missing two Badges. Charge P and the unused red Charge P, as according to here: http://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_badges_in_Paper_Mario:_The_Thousand-Year_Door Note that the second URL I linked uses low-res versions of the sprites (I think?), or possibly it crops them? Not sure on that, though. The red Charge P is listed in the second URL as "Invalid Item". Charge P is a bluish/greenish (can't tell with the horrible lighting conditions in my room (where my computer and games are) and I don't remember what the color was supposed to be) hexagon with a letter C inside of it, with that little yellow smiley face in the lower right corner. I've checked the list, nothing else in terms of Badge sprites seems to be missing. There's also a duplicate Refund badge on the sheet, the two Refund Badges are completely identical. Refund is the one with the Fire Flower inside of a circle, and is brown-and-yellow colored. Hopes this helps! RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - GordenFreemant - 10-11-2016 Depending on the definition of "incomplete" or "broken", the stage rips from Mario Kart 8 might qualify. Take this rip of MK8's Mario Circuit, for example: http://www.models-resource.com/wii_u/mariokart8/model/10716/ If you look closely (or just look at the model in a viewer of your choice), you'll see that multiple objects are missing, including, but not limited to:
In fact, pretty much all "dynamic" objects are missing from the ripped models. (Or at least Blender doesn't display them) Because I'm not nearly as skilled at ripping models as the wonderful people who ripped these ones, I haven't looked at the raw files from the game to see if these missing parts are in there, but in case they are not, I apologize. (and also I just noticed that this thread was for sprite sheets, not models. welp, sorry) RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - Magma MK-II - 10-11-2016 (09-28-2016, 08:30 AM)Deathbringer Wrote:(09-27-2016, 07:03 PM)Davy Jones Wrote: Ys (NES) - PortraitsIt might be an unused portrait tho because the tiles exist in the ROM but I never got it to show up in the game. That's if it's the character I thought it was. http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/ys/ys3.htm It is missing the Thieves Den portrait as far as I can tell. RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - White-Jet - 10-11-2016 Suikoden - Varkas and Sydonia have two different version of their hanged sprite. In the Japanese version, they were strapped to a cross rather than a pole. Censored Gaming brought this up, but because they were using the PSP port, which had a wider screen, it didn't seem convincing enough, so I dug through Youtube in order to find the original PlayStation version just to make sure it was the same on both ends. If the video doesn't jump to the time stamp, go to 1:10:50.
RE: Incomplete or broken Submissions - Cooper - 10-14-2016 Super Mario 64 seems to be missing some sounds. Shall I oblige?
