Can't make character blink or look around - WastedTime - 12-01-2016 I downloaded the young Simba model and opened the .obj file in the newest version of blender, but there was one problem. The model was all in one piece, including the eyes, etc. I'm an obvious beginner, is there anyway to work around this? RE: Can't make character blink or look around - Larryeedwards - 04-19-2017 Have you tried Mixamo? you can use this to automatic rig your character RE: Can't make character blink or look around - Khyze - 04-30-2017 The model being all in just one piece is not a problem, some people like to work like that (And im not sure, but i guess all .obj are exported like that?) As you said, you are a beginner, i suggest you to look for some tutorials, guides and stuff, in case you dont know what to look for, google this: -Blender Rigging Tutorial: Rigging is creating "bones" for your models, they are used to animate your model in an easy way, Blender has a great automatic system to apply weights to your bones, but you first need to do the bone figure. -Blender Shape Keys Tutorial: Shape keys are usefull for "deforms" on your models, it's very usefull for eyes and mouth animations, it's also used to fix some weird stuff with your rigging. You go to Edit Mode (Where you can move all the Vertex/Dots to change the shape of your character) and create "another" model Those two things are the ones you need to learn ASAP, they are a little hard to learn, Blender interface is very complicated, if you are starting with 3D, i suggest you Milkshape, it's easier to use (Or at least it was) and you can learn stuff faster that will be usefull in Blender or other 3D modelling software |
