Can someone help me convert some files? - Neon Streak - 12-13-2016 Since I'm currently having some technical difficulties with running the Amiga version of First Samurai, I decided to give ripping sprites from the DOS version a try. So I grabbed a zip folder containing all the contents of the game, and looked inside. The good news is that the graphics for the game are all in cleverly-labelled image files. The bad news is that the files are in .PIC format. Now I've googled for ways to convert the files to a different format, but unfortunately, every converter I tried just gave me a error and could not convert the files to ones that my computer can read. So I need some help. If I send you guys the files, could one of you take the time to convert them from .PIC to either .PNG or .BMP? I'd appreciate it if you do. P.S: sorry if I put this in the wrong thread. RE: Can someone help me convert some files? - puggsoy - 12-13-2016 First off, in the future it's always good if you can upload some sample files for us to check out. I managed to find a download for it though. In this case it's actually good I did, because I figured out that the sprites are actually in the BIN files, or at least those starting with SSPR. I expect the SOFF ones have the offsets. Just have to find the palettes and then I can make a program for it. RE: Can someone help me convert some files? - Neon Streak - 12-13-2016 Oh yeah, forgot about that. Here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u2no1hjzu8sdzkk/first-samurai.zip?dl=0 The two files that stuck out to me in particular were called SAMURAI.PIC and WARRIORS.PIC, which I'm assuming are the graphics for the player and the enemies respectively, although I could be wrong. I wish you all the best of luck, since I know next to nothing about ripping sprites from home computer games. |
