HeloHello! - vgrob - 07-16-2017

Hi!~ So cool to be among the greats! I like the direction the people on this site is going! Oh, by the way call me Robert. Now where was I? Oh, right! Who said your imagination has to stop at the end of the game?! You can take it further and inspire someone else! Original game creators done that for us through one game or another. Yet something inside beckons us for more! That's where you guys come in. Heck, that's where I come in too! Believe me, I'm just as imaginative as you guys are minus the - VGresources (ba-dum-tiss) Rawr~.

Also, music is the biggest driving factor in my choice of VG or V entertainment. Pretty ladies and over-the-top action are closely tied for 2nd. Back to music; it's strongest influences on me traces back to Genesis and Dreamcast days. My favorite PS1 game that I played 2 days ago is MTV Music Generator (currently have 49 experimental tracks. 2/3 was in my portable player for years). I do some vegas, audacity combining of random music and audio and sometimes video that I find and fuse them beautifully. I keep alot of Capcom and fighting games from PS2 for the music. The only, I repeat, ONLY movie that I have is Jet Li's 'Black Mask'. It's not only for the over-the-top kung fu, it's not only for the good music in it, but it's for the kung fu in CADENCE with the good music! Truly a priceless masterpiece with creative minds backing it Cry. You guys should take a break from your VGresource projects and watch it free online. Speaking of cadence, I still have 'Bloody Roar 3' for PS2 - you guys should also youtube it's intro that's done to the music. It's so cool. I think that sums up my personality on said topics; If it's got good music, I'm keeping it. If it's got a good sequence and/or action, I'm adding good music to it. If the actions' tempo matches with a few tracks, then that's an opportunity I'm not going to pass up!

It would be great to converse with a bunch of like-minded individuals and know who they are on the the welcome thread but eventually I would like to get down to business with great help (my zeal in the music screenplay department demands it!) That said, the project I'm currently working on is from a game, 'Space Channel 5'. I swear every time I hear a new song I like, this game instantly pops up in my mind - can this new track go with it? It's basically 'Guitar Hero' but with dance moves and good music also. It's for the Dreamcast and the sequel for the PS2 but I don't have the Dreamcast anymore and never played PS2 version. My specific task is basically setting the VG footage (mainly from youtube) with requested or some of my own favorite tracks. The issue is; I wouldn't even be on this thread if the game basically had the option to mute the music volume but it makes sense that you can't since it's a music/timing game where you need the music to progress. Meaning I would be re-adding all audio sxf and voices from scratch over some muted youtube video of it. A contributor on the site uploaded PS2 and Game Boy Advance audio of it - a small part of it. The GBA audio is crap and I can't do the game justice with it. I really like the quality of the PS2 version which is probably the same as DC version of it but it's only in-game audio of the main character voice. Although that was the top priority audio I needed, I could sure use some sound effects and other character voices, preferably the Dreamcast version or PS2 version. I like Dreamcast best. I don't know where to start for help so I hope I get a lot of help and resources here. Until then, see you around, guys!

Hey and welcome! That's quite the intro thread, but I suppose I'm not complaining; now we know who you are Smile

If I'm understanding correctly you're looking to extract the sound effects from the game in question, in which case you'll want to make a thread in the Ripping Help sub-section of the Sounds Resource section of the forum. If you've read the rules you'll know that straight-up requests aren't allowed until you've met the requirements, so you will have to put a bit of work in yourself. Try get a hold of an ISO for the game and see if you can find something that might contain the audio files. We can try help from there, but nothing's guaranteed Wink

In any case enjoy your stay!

A point in the right direction is not a bad start! So; proper thread, mutual help, gather possible ISO. Alllright! Thanks for the welcome and direction, puggsoy!
