Needs some fixing(basic idle pose) - Theforeshadower - 11-11-2017 Just basic shapes. Trying to get it right before I move on to coloring, shading, etc. Sceond one is a bit heavier/thicker. I fee like the entire left side is wrong somehow. Also, trying to go for a small forearms/thighs with longer larger forearms/calves. I think the forearms could be a bit larger as well as the calves. Used some Mega Man references just trying to translate it to a more slim form, but then I would still prefer it overall to be a bit thicker to pay homage to SNES sprites. I might do an edit with the arms pointed more downward. The character is supposed to be less aggressive in his stance. Any thoughts to the structure would be appreciated. Once I get this down, I will be filling it in with DB 32 palette(I like it). RE: Needs some fixing(basic idle pose) - DioShiba - 11-11-2017 I feel like the anatomy is off either way you look at it. Maybe it's because I'm picking up on the jagged outlines on the legs for both sprites side by side. I think what may help with the legs specifically is to think of them as a B shape S shape instead of using straight lines when you draw out the shapes before coloring them.. Although, feel like the elbows are more the emphasis as opposed to the forearms on the second sprite. That's where my thoughts are in regards to that. I don't think it would hurt to start again from scratch personally. I think I am going to do that. I ended up using Inkscape to get a vector together of the stance in stick form, so I think I do better working from that since I just dont have luck starting blank. I am also thinking of going twice the size then resizing later so that I can focus on shapes a little better without having anxiety trying to get every pixel perfect in a small space. |
