Need some help on some arcade file format - jch02140 - 01-08-2018 I have initially tried using the Mame emulator sprite/tile viewer but the games do not seem to support the feature, hence I ended up extracting the chd content and ended up with some weird files... The pixel bit format is just weird and the byte color order is too. But what Can I say? computers were way different therefore strange unfamiliar file formats. Here, I managed to crack the format. Not entirely sure about the pixel color sort. But it looks right. They are actually from a few different games: - Night Raid (clt, pxl) - Kororin's Weather Tale (clt, pxl) - Psyvaria (001) - Xii Stag (par) All of them are using the same hardware which is the Taito G-Net System (http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=672), which is based on the PlayStation hardware. I would assume those graphics files were originally stored in TIM format?... Is there a batch script to convert the files since there are a number of files I would like to convert as well. They both seem to be a compressed package of some sort. The .bin file may be an old binary package file and the .dat file is just a raw hex that is read a certain way to build up the game content. The .dat files are very hard to crack because it barely gives any resources to crack the content. .dat files are just raw hex data i'll take a look at them tomorrow because they may be a different format than I think but until then, I would suggest reverse engineering the game and the format and see what you can get out of that. Sorry if my results on the previous formats are not perfect, they're a work in progress, the colors of the format I cracked seem strange and inaccurate. |
