The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - DioShiba - 07-28-2020 How come there hasn't been a thread about this yet? Anyhow recently there have been a ton of files of old nintendo games ranging from the NES to N64 and DS during development and hooooooo shit. https://www.ign.com/articles/nintendo-gigaleak-everything-we-know-and-all-the-major-discoveries Essentially a ton of development graphics, L is Real in Mario this whole time. https://kotaku.com/huge-nintendo-gigaleak-reveals-tons-of-snes-n64-secre-1844509739 https://www.polygon.com/2020/7/26/21339018/nintendo-gigaleak-super-mario-64-zelda-pokemon-what-is-it-snes https://twitter.com/OKeijiDragon/status/1286728095060262912?s=20 https://twitter.com/FrangusMcDangus/status/1287219865451978752?s=20 EDIT: Due to the nature of the images, they have been deleted from this post after finding out that they can't be posted. Sorry kids! There have also been leaked early designs of yoshi going around too. On another note: legal concerns. Theres tons and tons more leaks but I'm wondering what this will likely mean for the gaming community and TVGR after all this began. RE: The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - Simpsons Dumper - 07-28-2020 It's been noted at https://www.spriters-resource.com/update-689 - these assets won't be accepted here. But I don't see any reason why we can't still discuss it. Yeah, there's some neat stuff in there - always nice to see early content and uncompressed files. Thank you for pointing this out to me. RE: The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - Doc Melonhead - 07-30-2020 We most likely see the sprites and models on TCRF anyways. This was already confirmed in a Iwata Asks interview. I'm just glad that the model has finally surfaced so we can all see what could have been. Actually more over I'm far more interested in what is coming out of the Super Mario World Prototypes. Supposedly the Cape Power-Up has gone through different phases where at first it was supposed to be Mario having wings to Mario with a Helmet and a Red cape. And a couple of other little neat assets that have nothing to do with Luigi flipping everyone off or a naked man. RE: The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - Barack Obama - 08-02-2020 The Super Donkey guy looks like a dressed up version of the professor from Luigi's Mansion. My favorite so far are the Starfox 2 portraits and the Super Mario World sprites. Yeah, we probably might see the sprites and models on The Cutting Room Floor. We'll also get to see the ROMs as well RE: The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - JewyB - 08-25-2020 I' ma bit late to this but the gigaleak left me torn. On the one hand. i'm fully in support of the information being public, because its quite old now and not a massively large effect on nintendos bottom line, and hoarding data is how it gets lost. The issue is the theft, like, it can be justified in many ways but it was still obtained illegally. I love seeing it but, its a little dirty. Forbidden fruits i guess? RE: The Great Nintendo Gigaleak - BronzeHeart92 - 08-30-2020 To be honest, it sure is interesting to know what game development can be like behind the scenes... |
