Do you need a hand? - Maxpphire - 01-19-2009 Ok so I've been in the mood to draw lately, particularity hands. I discover that they aren't so hard to draw if you stare at your own hands and how they move every once in a while. Since it is only a sketch I could like some critique on it and Yes it has no fingernails. I'll have to add them later. RE: Do you need a hand? - triptych - 01-19-2009 that part that looks like you erased it should probably still be there RE: Do you need a hand? - Chutzpar - 01-19-2009 What 1up said it looks kind of flat and like... stretchy? All I would suggest is drawing more hands, working from life and working from reference. You might find it easier to get someone else to pose their hands for you. Not sure why, but I find it much easier to draw other peoples hands than my own. Also, you really need to think about what you're drawing; don't take shortcuts and make sure you draw precisely what you see. It's kinda hard to train yourself to do because when you look away your brain kinda fills in the gaps, just make sure you keep referring to your reference (be it photo or real) and make accuracy your priority <: RE: Do you need a hand? - Maxpphire - 01-19-2009 Thanks you two~ With that thing there it looked kinda funky but I'll play around with it more and Zeemort I'll take up your advice with the whole looking at other peoples' hands. RE: Do you need a hand? - andrio - 01-20-2009 Fingers are freakishly long...maybe my fingers are stubby Maybe smoothen the nail ends a little bit. They look very sharp RE: Do you need a hand? - Maxpphire - 01-20-2009 Well since it is only the side view of the nails once I finish drawing them out they won't look as sharp. I know the fingers are kinda a bit long but I drew the thumb first and I tried to keep them in proportion with the thumb and I guess I have a really long thumb. |
