Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 06-13-2021 I just thought about what to rip next and I still have this tool called Map Jester for browsing through Trials of Mana (SNES). Apparently, this tool exists since 2013 and delivers maps with excellent quality and since a lot of the maps on this site have cut off edges and screwed colour palettes due to emulation errors, I will re-rip everything. 01 Jadd Stronghold 02 Rabite Forest 03 Lakeside Town Astoria 04 Cascade Cavern 05 Holy City Wendel 06 Free City of Maia 07 Golden Road 08 Stonesplit Gap 09 Dwarf Village 10 Dwarf Tunnels 11 Molebear Moors 12 Valsena, Kingdom of the Plains 13 Merchant Town Beiser 14 Beiser's Night Market 15 Palo Port 16 Heavensway 17 Laurent Secret Base 18 Koropokkur Woods 19 Gusthall 20 Laurent Citadel 21 Ghost Ship 22 Beuca Island 23 Tomato Town 24 Seaside Cavern 25 Snow Hamlet Alrant 26 Frostbite Fields 27 Labyrinth of Ice 28 Desert Capital Sirhtan 29 Burning Sands 30 Oasis of Diin 31 Fiery Gorge 32 Moonlight Town Mintas 33 Duskmoon Forest 34 Chartmoon Tower 35 Lampbloom Woods 36 Flowerburg Dior 37 Oblivisle 38 Sanctuary of Mana 39 Altena, Kingdom of Magicians 40 Ferolia 41 Nevarl Fortress 42 Daria, Gem Valley 43 Woods of Wandara 44 Shimmering Ruins 45 Ancient Capital Pedda 46 Crystal Desert 47 Jungle of Visions 48 Night Cavern 49 Dragonsmaw 50 Mirage Palace 51 Dark Castle 52 Anise's Stockade Source: https://mana.fandom.com/wiki/Locations_in_Trials_of_Mana Not sure if all of them are in the SNES version, but I'll see. RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 06-14-2021 Okay, I was able to export every single map in the game and I can also view every single tileset with it. A few rips from before I started SMW are already on the site, like Beiser (Exterior), Lowenburg (Exterior & Gate) and the two world maps. RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 08-04-2021 Added Fiery Gorge. Reference for assembling the single maps was the compilation on VGMaps: https://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/index.htm#SeikenDensetsu3 RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 08-05-2021 It really throws me off when a game uses one map several times but edits them ingame with its tileset. I can't even use the ref on vgmaps since the mapper had the glorious idea to edit the maps into each other, which destroys the borders I need to reconstruct the map (Labyrinth of Ice). Now I have to start the emulator, search save files, etc. Nah, I do something else. Maybe some interior rooms? Here is the WIP, btw: https://i.imgur.com/vfvyxkQ.png Sheet is otherwise finished. Also updated Fiery Gorge with the location of the Mana Goddess Statue (text only). RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Dark_Ansem - 12-19-2021 I'm actually trying to do the same, and I'm also using Mapjester but it's confusing me! RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 12-19-2021 Do you have questions about it? Post them here and I try to answer them. Btw, I'll probably get back to it and want to reserve the villages plus interiors, just in case. Post them here and I try to answer them. Why thank you, Mr President! So, I have Map Jester, but some tiles are of weird colours like bright green, and I don't think I see the animated tiles for water or fire. Please see screenshots here: https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-40042-post-671060.html#pid671060 RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 12-20-2021 Try to select a different palette. Either this, or the tileset has leftovers from another map, which means they're unused (which makes sense, one of these is a castle interior and the miscoloured tiles are from the jungle maps). RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Dark_Ansem - 12-21-2021 Thank you, could you please remind me how do i select a different palette? Is there I way I can determine how many palettes does a tileset have? RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 12-23-2021 I'm pretty sure these tiles are just miscoloured by default and serve as padding. They are on another set too (with a correct palette), so no worries. So that's basically the rule, when I see these miscoloured tiles, the correct version is probably somewhere else? What about animated tiles however, such as water, or decorative elements? I'm not sure I can see them in the tileset. Do you know where they are found? RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Barack Obama - 12-29-2021 Haven't seen them so far, maybe somewhere within Map Jester you can toggle frames like in Hyrule Magic (editor for Zelda 3), but I'm not sure. RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Dark_Ansem - 12-29-2021 Belated merry xmas! I haven't seen it, I wonder if there's more documentation available. Have you found the function? RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Dark_Ansem - 01-09-2022 ok so, I've been tinkering with map jester and for the life of me I can't see where the animated tiles are triggered. Some tiles also appear to be missing - does the game just mirror them? RE: Trials of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 3 - Ripping all SNES Maps - Dark_Ansem - 01-12-2022 Anyone else interested? I'm at my wit's end sadly. |
