Helldivers 2 (2024) - Gazingpenguin - 02-17-2024
Looking into ripping assets from Helldivers 2 by Arrowhead Game Studios. I made some attempts with NinjaRipper 1.7.1, but I'm much more accustomed to Umodel and AssetStudio so that was a little defunct. So, let's start.
Information:
- The game uses a modified Stingray/Bitsquid Engine. (Used by Vermintide, The Showdown Effect, Magicka, Gauntlet and a few others.)
- More than likely a fork of the original Helldivers game since that was their last release in 2015. Extraction methods that worked with that might work.
- Game's assets are contained in ../data (at least, I think). File types I see in the files are .gpu_resources and .stream inside a "data" folder. This is somewhat dissimilar to Vermintide 2 which is the closest game that has successful extractions.
- So far, the best result I've gotten is by using the method used by extracting Vermintide 2 assets with NinjaRipper. Although unsuccessful on extracting any assets. It was able to "lag" the game for a second when using "-eac-untrusted -bundle-dir ../data -ini settings -silent-mode" I'll have to continue testing. Technically that means success entry but maybe wrong location.
- Uses GameGuard as it's anti-cheat.
