How Do I use Tiled GGD? - TheRDHRhythm - 10-03-2024 Hi. I'm new to sprite ripping, I've been desperately trying to extract the PSX version of Mega Man 8's tile sets in color, yet to no avail. The closest I've gotten was with an old program called Tiled GGD. I managed to get the tiles to not look like a garbled mess once but can't remember how I did it in the program. I have tried a bunch of other methods, but Tiled GGD seems the most promising. If someone could help me use the program, I would greatly appreciate it, especially since there are literally zero tutorials on the internet on how it works. RE: How Do I use Tiled GGD? - Barack Obama - 10-04-2024 This one? https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/646/ There is also a version by puggsoy which fixes Endian mixup: https://wiki.vg-resource.com/TiledGGD Here is a tutorial by Mechanicalsaviour for SWRZ2: Quote:1. Set the width of the sheet to 512 pixels(use the arrow keys for this)It's probably different for each game (width, bit, tile size, palette, etc.), but it should give you an idea how this tool works. An alternative and easier to use tool would be PSX-VRAM: PsxVram-DotNet https://github.com/romhack/PsxVram-DotNet note: latest version of PSX-VRAM PSX VRAM Viewer (updated) v.3.0 https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1567/ PsxVram-SDL (discontinued) https://github.com/romhack/PsxVram-SDL note: both are probably identical, updated support for more emulator savestates PSX VRAM Viewer hacked for NO$PSX v.2 https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1324/ note: oldest version just with support for nopsx instead of espxe Psx V-Ram v.1.1 https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/442/ note: the oldest version, only supports epsxe PSX-VRAM Tutorial: https://wiki.vg-resource.com/PSX-vram note: pretty easy and straightforward tutorial RE: How Do I use Tiled GGD? - TheRDHRhythm - 10-04-2024 I'm using the version by puggsoy. I've been able to get the graphics to look right consistently now, it's just the colors that I can't seem to find at all. They all just look like garbled messes, and I have no idea where Mega Man 8 stores its palettes. I have no clue how to get any of the emulators that are compatible with PSX-VRAM to function. Thanks for the help though. RE: How Do I use Tiled GGD? - Barack Obama - 10-04-2024 Maybe try epsxe first, I'm familiar with this one and could help out if problems show up. epsxe download: https://www.epsxe.com/download.php epsxe setup tutorial for bios, plugins, etc: https://www.epsxe.com/help.php RE: How Do I use Tiled GGD? - TheRDHRhythm - 10-04-2024 My problem is that I always get a black screen with epsxe and then the program closes out when I try to run anything. EDIT: Nevermind, I found out you have to change the CPU overclocking to x1 |
