The Simpsons (Arcade) ripping pointers? - PSI Penguin - 10-07-2024 Hello, I'm fairly new to ripping in general, and i'm currently attempting to rip both sound effects and music stems from The Simpsons. When I import the MAME audio buffer(?) (file "072-d05.1f" - specifically) as raw data in Audacity, it automatically registers as having: Signed 8-bit PCM enconding Little-endian byte order 2 Channels The trouble is that at 44100 Hz, trying to stretch out the audio (with the Change Speed and Pitch tool) to an audible rate ends up leaving in a lot of clipped noise, and fills the remaining sounds with a ridiculous amount of low-frequency noise, and after trying to change the samplerates to everything below that, fiddling with the byte orders, and even converting the whole track to mono, i've run out of ideas at this point. If anyone could point me to a more elegant solution of ripping these arcade sounds, or help me iron out the creases in this method, that would be greatly appreciated. |
