Ripping SFX from PSP/PS2 iso - JadenXgamerWasTaken - 11-08-2024 Hello! I'm new to ripping game assets and currently looking for a way to rip sound effects from a Ben 10: Protector of The Earth from either the PSP or PS2 version. this game contains iconic high quality sound effects from the show itself that to my knowledge haven't been archived anywhere how should I go about getting the sound files from this PSP/PS2 game? First you need to obtain an .iso file of the game (legally you should rip it from a disc yourself, but there are other ways to obtain it...). Then you need to mount the .iso on your computer to look at the games files. Then you need to narrow down which files contain sounds, since they won't be in a usual format (you could use a program like PSound to do this). Then you need to find a way to extract them - people make programs that can rip from certain file types and share them online all the time, so you might get lucky and find one made already. Depending on how the developers put the game together, the files might be openable with VGMStream, which you can install to open plenty of game file formats into something like foobar, which you can then use to convert them to an accessible format like .wav for example. Alternatively, I know that this game is also on the Wii. If you can get an .iso of the Wii version, then the emulator Dolphin can actually open the game's file directory for you right in the emulator, which may be a more direct method. This is merely a short version of the process, and you'll probably have more questions along the way. There are lots of threads about ripping sound files from Wii/PS2 games, so make sure to look at the pinned threads on this forum for more help. |
